One of the worst motels I’ve ever stayed at, and we have some pretty low standards - if it’s clean and I can shower, it’ll work. We’ve stayed in 2-star hotels the last week of our road trip, and we understand the reality of most 2-stars; however, this motel should be embarrassed to call itself a 2-star. This place didn’t even meet the most basic standards. If this is your only option, you’d be better off sleeping in your car.
First of all, they are absolutely guilty of false advertising: the pictures they have online do NOT match the godawful state of their rooms. They advertise renovated rooms, but that could not be further from the truth.
Room said it was non smoking, but smelled rancid, like old rotting cigarettes. Front desk did not care when we told them, they just said “some people don’t listen and smoke anyway.” They clearly make no effort to clean it. The bathroom was disgusting, the shower was stained and dirty and the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. The floor was dirty, there were poorly patched holes in the walls, and the deadbolt was missing - even worse, the doorframe where it used to be was splintered as if it had been kicked in. We were put into a corner room with the neighboring door less than a foot away, and the people in that room were knocking on their door constantly and loudly going in and out until almost 2am. The walls were so thin, they couldn’t have been insulated whatsoever. There were people loitering in the parking lot and outside our door all night, contributing to the noise and unsafe feeling. Since the neighboring door was so close, every time they pounded on it, it sounded like they were knocking on our door, which of course made our dogs bark and startled us. The office was supposed to be open at 7a, but I had to call the number at 7:30a to checkout and it sounded like the guy had just woken up. He also didn’t seem to care at all about any of our concerns, barely even apologized. Absolutely awful experience, if you have any standards at all do NOT come here.
Look for the price it was fine. If I wanted high quality bed, pillows and stuff would have booked elsewhere. It was close to the Sand Dunes and so it was fine.
Bathroom was not all that clean the shower had a slow drainage the water won't go down fast enough the floor didn't look like they were swept or mopped! When I arrived at the motel there was nobody at the front desk I had to wait about an hour or so!!
Looking at some other reviews for this place I have to ask, what did you expect for literally the lowest priced place in town? Well frankly, I expected a bit more than I got but in the end, it was a room with a clean bed tp sleep in and that's all I need when I get a hotel/motel for a single night that is not a "destination" stay.
The service was great. Check in was quick and easy even at about 8:45pm as we drove in from Denver and had a few stops along the way. The staff was very willing to provide me with an extra pillow when asked as well.
However, the room was not the cleanest. There was a small carton of creamer and an open package of hot dogs still in the fridge. There was also an open can of tomato paste in the freezer. This was topped off with the package of coffee grounds still inside of the coffee maker. The floor was a bit dirty as well, seems it had not been swept in some time.
But, the bed was nice and clean. Linens seemed washed and clean. The shower left a bit to be desired due to being pretty small and the shower head was a bit old and clogged up; not all jets worked. Other than the small piece of soap left in the shower the bathroom was also very clean.
In the end, I got what I wanted; a quiet place to watch some TV and sleep after a long day. I'm not really put off by the lack of cleanliness but I do have to wonder how such simple items got missed by the staff.
Good place to stay if you are looking for a night. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was okay. The best thing was that the beds were really really comfortable. Had a great sleep after a long day. Cheers!!
We stopped for the night on our way north it was okay motel a bit noisy at night with the road right next to us. The air conditioning was a bit hard to control but did drown some of the street noise and the bathtub was slippery. The beds are fine. The price was good.
The staff were great. The room was small and the walls needed to be wiped down. The beds were great and clean. The breakfast was very sparse, but there was a Denny's within walking distance.
I checked in at 5 minutes before the office closed. Room was nasty. Had several human hairs on the sheets when i opened them up. Pillow cases were dingy as were the walls. I called the office about changing rooms. They gave me a different room but it was just as gross. Lots of pet hair on the sheets and floors. Walls were splattered with food as well as scuffs and markings. They office closed at 10:00 pm so i just left and went to hampton inn. For $50 more my room is top notch
