Great place for dog walking (it is a bit easy to follow the wrong path I believe the advice is to go anti clockwise)
Update a few years on: bear in mind there are no bins so dog walkers need to prepare to carry it (double bag!).
To help with the route, go anti clockwise and generally follow the wider path which is marked with green arrows. There is one section just after the pair of bridges where the arrows can confuse and send you off to the left or the right but you want to go left (see photo with arrow).
The path goes inland a little bit so its easy to think you should follow paths that head back towards the lake but this could get you a little lost of you do that so bear that in mind.
Generally still a lovely place to walk. There are signs about blue/green algae so dog owners please be careful! I didnt see any while I was here.
At the end of the loop you do go down the road a little bit. It's a quiet road but does get a little busier on weekends with visitors to the reservoir.
Some people had left rubbish which is a big shame. A bin would help even just in the carpark but it is what it is!
Beautiful scenery with great walks round the reservoir. About six miles walking distance. Took 2 hours with a break for a snack about halfway. Plenty of parking space.
Amazing place for Sunsets and Night Sky Viewing!
Literally the best place in the Brecon Beacons, as it has virtually no light pollution.
For those not familiar with the area, it's quite a drive off the beaten track to reach the car park, but well worth the drive. You are literally parked next to the main dam.
Beautiful circular walk with stunning views
Plenty of parking available. Nice and quiet place to stop off.
The walk around the reservoir presents you with some stunning views all year around. It's about six miles taking about two hours. Three years ago it would have scored a 5* It used to be a really nice spot. To many disrespectful people leaving their rubbish for others to clean up "Leave no trace"
Good wild camping stopover. Good walks and very quiet.
