I never thought I’ll ever leave a review for a rest area. But here I am. Stopped by yesterday on way back from Columbus to Marysville. The building looks old from outside but when you go inside the restrooms were fine, very basic, but I noticed as I turned the faucet on the water looked yellow. Luckily I had a clear plastic bottle with me so to test that I filled the bottle and it does look very strangely yellowish. It does have some chlorine like smell to it and I think also because of the water’s color the toilets also looked yellowish. I talked to the guy who managed that area. If it was his last day there today he said that the building is very old so could be pipes. I tried several times to reach out to Ohio department of transportation but I could never reach to people who actually manage the rest areas so yes if somebody looks over these rest areas, they need to check out what’s wrong with the water.
Definitely just a pit stop needs tore down and updated. Smells like they use some type of oil product for a cleaner probably to get to graffiti off the walls or it is heated with kerosene. First stop headed out of Columbus could represent Ohio a little better. Maybe they just leave it that way because people tear it up. Better than an outhouse, running water and a nice park area.
It does the job. And not much else. Clean, older restrooms.
Only has air hand dryers in the rest rooms. Wish they had paper towels because sometimes you need more than air
OTR trucker. Shame on Ohio. Tear it down, put up something decent and give us parking
