You've seen the headlines and watched the footage but being there in-person, standing at the mark of such a senseless murder- a symbol of historic oppression, is truly heart wrenching.
Tragedy put this place on the map but the memorial, the art, the movement and legacy is so powerful. The memorial is beautiful and it keeps growing. The artwork, the stories and notes people have left over the years is truly remarkable.
Pay your respects; it's vital we never forget not only George Floyd, but say the names of all the victims of similar acts of brutality.
The food was okay. I ordered from door dash and they call themselves "the beefy idea" for their deli. Everything on the doordash menu is outdated and misleading. The food looks nothing like the pictures they posted on there and they do not list all the toppings that are on the burger. Mayo for example was not listed but is on the burgers. The corn dog was half the size of the corndog on the listed picture. It tasted right though like how a corndog should taste. Good big hotdog too. The french fries are probably the only thing that looks like the picture they posted. The bacon cheese burger is what I got and requested the tomato and onions off and added a fried egg on there. The bacon tasted like beef jerky for some reason and was super tough. The burger was decent itself. Overall, everything on their doordash page is misleading but the price for their food is good for what you pay for I suppose.

Unity Foods, formally known as Cup Foods and under new management, still has the best employees. The food from the grill is always made fresh and tastes amazing. Once you order from the grill, you will keep coming back again and again. The fresh food and grocery departments are still here to service the community. All the other departments many have relied upon are still here as well.
Hours are 8am to 9 pm every day.
The technician was really nice and friendly. He fixed my iPhone 13 front and back after it was ran over by a car lol
Amigo (the cook) Always puts his heart into his food, the staff are always friendly and care about you and your shopping needs. Everyone’s friendly, the store is clean and organized well. Never smells bad they have incense going, slick display cases with everything you could want. they stay stocked up with your favorite snacks and candies. Overall my go to store these days.
Employees were nice and professional. They had my screen and back in stock and charged me $100 cheaper than other places I called.

A horrible reason for a business to be on the map but the various things people have left, the art people have created, the way volunteers are present to share info is all great. I went to be a lookie-loo but once there I felt enfold in the solemnity. Ground Zero for change in America.
