Long-time customer of this establishment. I go here a few times a year. I ALWAYS get my sauce on the side. Yesterday, I ordered a GPan with sauce on the side and a large fry with sauce on. When I got home, the 1st thing I noticed was the sauce package. It looks like they have it professionally packed now. It is 100% NOT the exact same sauce I've been getting. I immediately noticed a difference in the taste
My daughter did, too. They changed something. I don't know what, but I don't like the new sauce. It's too much like Harold's now. Also, they charge more to put the sauce on the side. Why? It makes no sense. The chicken was still the same quality. No complaints there. I'll go sauceless moving forward.
Always what I expect when I get here. Food comes out hot and ready. Would want more sauce on the food but that's all. Grab Pan for the win always.
Congratulations! THE GRAND OPENING! This place has been here since my mom was 12 years old! They remodel the inside - (I’ll update with a picture next time im there) They food has always been at it top best for they amazing crispy chicken with they amazing A1 sauce! If you are visiting Chicago for its tasty food this place is must. We travel out of state to the west side for this delicious pan.
So the food was great, the remodeled waiting area is very stylish. The cashier was okay, could've been more pleasant. None of these things were an issue. My issue is that after I purchased my food online for pickup, my credit card started to get weird transactions. Like a charge for $38 & some change for gub hub. I never use grub hub. I also got charged by ebay for $217 & some change. I don't shop on ebay. Here's the issue, Uncle Remus is the only sketchy place I used my card today, so this does not sit well with me.
Now I’ve been here many a time and some visits were not as good as this one. That being said it’s been a long time since I visited because I could taste a change since the pandemic. And it just wasn’t what I grew up with. So I stopped coming. I decided to try again today and I’m happy I did. It was just what I wanted and needed. I ordered a Gpan Dark, a half a pan of fries, 6 rolls and a bottle of mild sauce. I asked for extra sauce on my items and I’ll be damned they did me right!!! So kisses to the chef. The cashier was patient and friendly with me and we had a lil jokey jokey too lol. So I want to give props to her!! Thank you girl! My order came out exactly how I used to remember it. Sauce seems to be back to the original. Now the chicken legs were a lil skimpy on the meat but I will overlook it because of how good the food was lol. I just wanted to thank yall and show support ❤️
They have no shame in the chicken game, I ordered 6wings and 2breast the wings were ok but the Brest were so dry that it had to been old chicken refried. I had to go to the uncle Remus I thought I was ordering from by my mom’s house . Please don’t go to the food truck it’s disgusting.
3$ for sams 20oz soda, mad traffic getting into the place, home of 8grams for $20,
+ the app is difficult ????. If you're from outta town sauce on side means you pay for a sauce container, hard to get a BAG IF ORDER LESS THAN 3 THINGS, FOLKS & NAPKINS TOO
Awesome food, people are very nice , prices are great , love the Gizzards A must try!!!!! Bad part the neighborhood,not so pleasant. Please bring one to the north ???? you would make a mint up north
