Had lunch here and overall we were happy with the food. Menu doesn’t have a lot of choices but there are enough that most people will find something they like. My husband had a burger and I had the Margherita pizza. We had the spinach artichoke dip which was VERY good. The burger was fine as was the pizza. Didn’t really scream wood-fired pizza and the flavor was somewhat bland. It said wood fired but you definitely don’t get the wood fired taste like you do at some places.
We shared the carrot cake which was amazing!! My husband bought a carrot cake cupcake to take home and that was nowhere near as good as the cake in the cafe. Definitely get the cake or nothing.
Of course we had to get a Kringle to bring home (half of one actually) and it was, as usual, delicious. We got the blueberry cheese one- lots of fruit- nowhere near dry like some can be.
Service was friendly.
We don’t need to eat in the cafe again but will definitely go back for some treats and may try some of their frozen prepared family entrees in the future. Their bakery has an amazing selection of cakes, muffins, cookies and other treats.
Absolutely loved the food, as well as the general atmosphere!
I went another family member and we both greatly enjoyed the food! They went with the French onion soup and Ceasar salad (they greatly enjoyed both) and I went the cheese curds and their bistro pizza!
Service was quick and the entire staff was very courteous!
The beer-battered cheese curds were a savory treat! They had that desired comforting taste I've come to expect and love, and the fried outside had just enough crisp to it, yet gave way while pulling it apart to see the melted cheese ooze from within. Pairing it with the house-made tomato sauce was also a great touch!
The bistro pizza was fantastic! Very flavorful! The middle was a bit softer, giving it some "flop" but removing each piece from the tray was no issue. Neither was folding it before my tastebuds could experience the wonderful flavors it provided! The crust had a light crisp on the outside, but was airy and softer on the inside once you take a bite!
Overall very pleased with my meal and as my first time trying the savory items, I'm glad they are on par with the high quality treats I've come to love for years! Would highly recommend!

This was our first visit to Uncle Mikes in Appleton. Walking in you are immediately impressed by the display cases of baked goods, cakes, and take out dinners.
We were seated immediately. We ordered margaritas which were delicious and cheese curds which were unique and very tasty. We ordered their wood fired pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The crust was perfect and the sauce was just splendid. The atmosphere was open and casual and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Uncle Mike’s Food Emporium.
Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is the beer cheese was good. The big soft pretzel was okay, but I don't think they have any better flavor than a soft pretzel bought anywhere else.
We both got a pizza, which was poor at best. As one other review said, "the sauce was more like a salsa" with bits of under cooked diced onion. If I had known that, I wouldn't have came here. My wife ate more of her pizza than me, but even she said that even pizza hut and Dominos has better pizza with better flavor. Only narrowly beating little Ceasars. We couldn't help but spend the drive home thinking of all the other good places that we would have rather spent $45. Luckily the pretzel was only $5 because we came in before happy hour close.
Finally, the service wasn't great. We made a reservation online, but was told that they don't accept reservations yet. Okay, so they were able to seat us after a fashion. Then the whole time it seemed like half the staff were lost and the other half were very overwhelmed. There wasn't that many people in there.
Overall, my wife might come back for the bakery, but I certainly won't be eating anything from here again.
For the record, we love the Raspberry Kringle and Spicy Cheese Bread! Tonight we decided to try the restaurant for dinner… Our expectations weren’t super high but they were met.
The Neapolitan pizza is DELISH. We’ll be back for that! The crust is flavorful, and crispy yet soft. The sauce was fresh and bright. The fresh house made mozzarella had such a strong and unique flavor, and we loved the sauce to cheese ratio on the pizzas.
I also enjoyed my Strawberry Boba Lemonade, however, I didn’t get it until after our pizza had arrived? And even worse than that, we didn’t get our Truffle Fries until very last. (And we don’t recommend those—they smelled stronger of truffles and Parmesan than they tasted, and the excess of parsley on top tasted like grass.) Our server must have sent them to the kitchen in the wrong order. She was sweet and slow, but super Wisconsin-grandma-sweet, so it was endearing.
The environment is unusual… The fixtures and furnishings are extremely high quality, but the space isn’t cozy at all and feels, vast? We had a hard time trying to decipher how to feel while dining there. Maybe some room dividers would help it feel like not such an expanse of a space.
Significantly more delicious than I expected! We started off taking a look at their baked goods and trying the samples and those were delicious.
From there, we got sat at our table. My wife and I tried both of their available burgers with fries while my son got a grilled cheese. Everything was brought out fairly quickly and everything was incredible.
After two burgers w/fries, a grilled cheese, two sodas, and tip we paid about $50 which was more than fair considering how many restaurants charge that much for mediocre food!
Highly recommend this place and I plan on visiting again soon.
Nothing short of amazing!! If you love the home baked quality of pure, rich ingredients, Uncle Mike's is the go to. The kringle is amazing, as are the cookies and brownies. The seven layer bars are incredible, just make sure to get there earlier in the day as they were sold out today.
I can only attest to my experience with the bakery side with Uncle Mike’s. I will say their chocolate chip cookies are excellent. I’m always looking for a good. quality cookie, and sometimes that’s hard to come across, and these are worth the stop. They obviously have a very large plethora of other bakery items, like donuts, scones, brownies, etc.
Also, I see complaints about them being ‘cashless’. For me, I only use Apple Pay, so I don’t have any complaints about them being cashless, as that will be the ‘norm’ for a lot of businesses moving forward. (Uncle Mike’s is actually ahead of the change now.) As a matter fact, I only use Apple Pay and only support businesses that offer mobile payment, as it is safer and encrypted for your protection without having to hand someone your debit/credit card. Mobile payment is the future.
