They destroyed my friends hair and will not talk to her. Color is flat and wrong. They could fix it and be a proper upstanding beauty salon. Or they could be considered unprofessional, inexperienced, unqualified charlatans.I know Manny artist in this field. Several different studios across the state. This should not be an issue for someone who is considered an artist by these veruold reviews.
Bert did an amazing job on my hair! He is very personable and has a wonderful way of making people feel comfortable during their time there. He shared many tips and tricks for me to use on my hair.
I didn’t say anything while I was in the salon because I’m not a confrontational person. But I specifically said I did NOT want layers and that I wanted a short blunt bob. He tells me that he wants to give me “long layers” and that it will still look how I want. I said ok and this is what I ended up with. My hair has choppy uneven layers and is the exact thing I didn’t want. And it can’t be fixed unless I just get a pixie cut now. I am so angry that he just disregarded everything I said I wanted. But he is also very chatty and I needed to leave like 15 minutes ago so I said I liked it and still tipped 40% but I hate it and he couldn’t have fixed it anyway.
I love my haircut and color every time I walk into this place.i have been going there since last 17 years!

Umberto is amazing! My hair looks and feels amazing. I have naturally curly hair. I have paid $180 to $10 from NYC to Tennessee to get my hair cut and hundreds more to have it colored. I have only found four people who did an amazing job on my hair and Umberto is one of them (and the guy I paid $180 for a NYC Ouidad haircut is not one of the three, nor is the guy who specializes in DevaCurl hair cuts in Baltimore one either), the other one in Baltimore couldn't ever stay at the same hair saloon and had too many personal issues to continue to go to, unlike Umberto who has been in business for decades. Umberto cut and colored my hair. Both the color and the cut are amazing! The four mentioned above, two cut great and two colored great but none colored great AND cut great. Umberto is Baltimore's Best!
I love Umbertos hair salon. Missy is awesome. I recommend everyone to go get their hair done there. Missy always does an amazing job on my hair.
