Our family has a silly lil tradition of pizza on Friday nights (I think we started that when our five kids were entering teenage years so we could keep them around on Fridays)
We will be relocating to this area soon and stayed the night but wanted to try out some local pizza. Here we come Ugo’s Pizzaland! We stopped in on a Friday night, and man alive did that place a’get a’hoppin’!
I was amazed (happily) at the amount of people in and out of that place while we waited for our order to go! Owners Tim and Gerri were there taking orders and working the crowd. They must surely know most everyone because they were recognized and super friendly to everyone (even us yet we were clearly newbys!) We we’re hopeful that we would be able to land a new favorite place so we tried a few different things!
The sampler appetizer (fried ravioli, cheese, sticks, teriyaki wings and sweet red chili wings), two personal 7in. pizzas (canadian bacon and pineapple, then- pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and onions) a small portion of spaghetti and meatballs, and 2 cannolis.
The appetizers were delightful, although there was a minor glitch with the mozzarella sticks… whoever was cooking those lost track of time, and they were barely warm, let alone crispy. The fried ravioli with similar to what you would find anywhere in the area, not spectacular, but if you’ve never had it before it is a great place to start. The teriyaki wings were delicious and well flavored, and the sweet red chili wings had just a slight kick to them but were very delightful.
The Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza was rather bland for pizza, but very typical for Canadian bacon and pineapple. (I liked it more than my husband, and I’ll order that again) The pizza sauce is a lovely flavor, and the sauce ratio was spot on. The pepperoni. Sausage, mushrooms, onions had a robust flavor that my husband loves. The spaghetti with meatballs, although not on our typical pizza menu, had some good sauce and delicious meatballs. The cannolis were pretty dang good, and a great addition to any Italian night! (Definitely treat yourself to those!)
Overall experience… Solid 9 outta 10!
(We WILL be back!)
(I am also including pictures of their full menu as of 3/2023)
We stopped at this place on our travels. The wait staff was very nice and conversational. We ordered cheese sticks and three personal pizzas all in the party and thought it was good stuff. We would go there again. They have a variety of meals besides pizza and beer and wine. There is also a salad bar. You can also have dessert. Overall really good
Just wonderful. They take pride in their service and food quality. We've been looking for place close to Macon where we could enjoy a drink and pizza. Ugo's has a lot of great food choices. The kids working there are great and well supervised. Seems to be popular. There were many coming in for dinner and there was a large group of high school girl's basketball players in the back room. Looking forward to going back soon.
Always five stars until last trip around Christmas ! A little skimpy ! I called in a couple more this last weekend and mentioned the skimpy ones and as they know me when I walked in the owner sid OHHHH it was you??? Yes I said, she apologized and within a couple minutes the boxes came out and she opened them and had me look and they were back to normal. She said they had a new guy working last time and it wont happen again !
UPDATE ! Had another event a couple weeks ago and pizzas are still skimpy ! Sad news too !
The hand tossed pepperoni pizza is legit! Sneaky good for a small town. Tasty dough, great sauce, cooked to the perfect crisp. Highly recommend.
Great pizza. Great service. No complaints. Wish though they had delivery service. Hint hint. At least on the weekends.
Ugos is a bit of a hidden gem somewhere of US36 in north central Missouri. You won't expect to find a place like this in some random one street town
The wife and I stopped here for supper and we're not disappoint the food was good the salad bar is simple but very fresh we both got a small pizza I got the supreme and the wife got the Buffalo chicken both were very good we got the hand tossed crust and next time I will try the thin crust. I also want to try the pasta as it looked really good.
Our waitress was amazing and when we ask her what was good she did amazing job at directing us in the right direction.
