Good dessert spot. They have variety of cakes and shaved ice. The cakes were flaky and were not too sweet. They were soft and juicy which melts in your mouth instantly. We tried their crepe cake, chocolate cake, thai curry cake. This place was a good choice. Will return again.
Come here with friends so you can split the cost and also buy some of the more gimmicky, Instagram-able foods.
Primarily an Instagram restaurant as the food is quite average. There's definitely a huge wow visual factor with the dishes. For the price though, I'd go somewhere else for better desserts.
If you do happen to come here: the croffle is probably skippable, especially the salted egg yolk. Not much impact to the dish. The salted egg flavour was super washed out. The croffle was ever so average as well. A bit flaky, but otherwise just plain dough. (Nice sugary crust on the underside though?)
Servers are friendly and the service was quick. It's a chill time if you bring along some friends.
Wow?! I mean, what else is there to say? You have to go. It's just that simple.
Before coming to San Francisco, I did countless hours of research... combing over the food places that we wanted to try, and we were so excited to try this place.
There are so many items that looked amazing on the menu, it's hard to decide what to pick (for an out of towner without the luxury of coming back). But we settled on the Croffle (salted egg yolk) and the Millionaire's Candy Bingsu.
We loved both dishes, they're amazing! The spicy honey was a lovely touch in the Bingsu. We're always looking for spicy desserts and it didn't disappoint! But that salted egg yolk croffle was so ????????????.
I'm objectively envious of people who live near this place and can frequent it as they desire.
It seems like a shame to go to the same place again while only visiting for a short time in such a big city renowned by its culinary options... but I'm going to have to hit it one more time on our way out. I just feel bad for the people who didn't know or slept on this place... don't be like them ????.
The matcha cheesecake was so so so so delicious, nice and warm and soft in the center. The strawberry lychee cheesecake was very fragrant, and the Thai tea crepe cake was great.
A great place to hang out after a dinner for dessert. A wide selection inspired by Thai and Japanese sweets. We ordered Thai Tea Lava Toast and it is super filling. The flavor of Thai tea is definitely there. There are many more to explore here.
Nice dessert place in SF! My wife and I shared the honey brick toast and the hojicha banoffee — both are very delicious and excellent treats in the afternoon. Got our 5 stars!
U:Dessert serves up mango bingsu like no other place I've tried. It's hands down the best bingsu I've ever had. Love the sides of condensed milk, mango puree (not syrup!), and pandan sticky rice.
If you're craving sweet indulgence, look no further than U Dessert Story. This charming spot offers an enticing selection of treats, but two stole the show for me: the choco truffle cake and the basque burnt cheesecake.
The choco truffle cake was a revelation. Rich, moist chocolate cake layers cradled a silky smooth truffle filling, creating an explosion of flavor in every bite. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet, allowing the natural cocoa notes to shine. It was decadent without being heavy, a perfect balance that left me wanting more.
The basque burnt cheesecake was a textural dream. The top boasted a beautiful caramelized crust, giving way to a luxuriously creamy center. It wasn't overly sweet, but the hint of burnt sugar added a delightful complexity. The cheesecake had a satisfying jiggle when gently shaken, a true testament to its perfect doneness.
U Dessert Story isn't just about the desserts (though they are the stars). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's the perfect place to relax with friends or enjoy a special occasion.
Overall:
If you're looking for top-notch desserts, U Dessert Story is a must-visit. The choco truffle cake and basque burnt cheesecake are both worth a try, and I can't wait to return and explore the rest of their menu.
Highly recommended!
