Went here for the first time on 15/04 - last night of our holiday. Food was great, service very good too. Lovely ambience. Staff very attentive. Very good value for money and food of good quality for price. Will definitely return and would recommend it in the future.
Went for our first visit here on Saturday, after booking before we came on holiday. Venue has definitely improved (in decor, food and hospitality) since changing hands/name. OH had the 2 course set menu and chose the deep fried Brie and the burger. I had the chicken kebab and spicy rice (chips was the alternative). Brie was tasty and a good portion. Kebab was very tasty, generous portion (took some home), rice was good but would have liked a little more. OH said burger was tasty. Entertainment was by the Piano Man. Due to the thunderstorm, he had to totally relocate his electric piano inside and dry everything out, which took a while but obviously safety was most important. Once he got started, it was worth the wait. Good prices and drinks are reasonable. We had a jug of sangria, which we asked if it was freshly made in-house, and were told it was. However, on tasting it (and having tasted a few), we did feel it was out of a bottle/carton as it was very sweet. That was the only negative we could say about the evening and we will definitely be back again. During our visit they were having to turn a lot of customers away who wanted to eat, so would definitely recommend booking a table in advance. We look forward to watching this venue go from strength to strength.
Do not eat here. We pre booked 2 months before for New Year's eve as a party of 4. The starter took 1 hour to come and the main course took another hour after that. The steaks were both cold when they came out so we couldn't eat them. The potato gratin was freezing and resembled slop. The service was actually good and although they were just getting complaints the whole time. The DJ was also good and we had a good laugh on the dance floor but we left early disgusted.
The steak was the best we have had in 20 years of visiting Spain. The nacho starter was full of cheese and chilli. The linguine was lovely. All topped off with a really good sangria. Well done Bar 22 you are on our favourites list.
Amazing place! Food exceptional and all seating areas contemporary, fresh and well placed. Been twice already and will revisit before going home! Team are superb also. Excellent service and all at very decent prices. All the best for the future! Nick.
