Absolutely amazing people hard-working and very kind very talented with the barbecue great atmosphere all around great place for a family dine in or take out highly recommend going and checking it out and grabbing either a loaded baked potato with your choice of meat or one of their amazing meat plates
Wonderful people who make the best chopped bbq sandwich in the world. Melt in your mouth smokey deliciousness. Sides of potato salad and cole slaw were also delicious. Perfect pit stop on a long days drive. Wish we lived closer, but will now think about swinging by whenever we’re even remotely close. No pictures of food because after the first bite it disappeared quickly. But I did take a picture of the outside.
Brisket and chicken were on point! Potato salad had just the right amount of pickles to pop. Kids were fully engaged and on board with compliments to pitmaster Larry!
Driving from Austin back to San Diego and we hadn't had BBQ yet. Girlfriend found this spot on maps and we thought we'd give it a go.
Brisket: incredibly moist. We normally hit up Franklins, but this place was definitely as tender. Great flavor as well. Not overly salty. Bark was well set.
Ribs: I thought the ribs were great. Very tender. The seasoning wasn't overpowering, very complimentary to the pork. Tasted great with the BBQ sauce.
Sausage: probably my least favorite. Nothing wowed me. Good flavor, just nothing to write home about.
Coleslaw: girlfriend was indifferent with the coleslaw
Potato salad: good!
Service: we came in just after 1130. Two people ahead of us in line. Took about 20 minutes for us to order. By the time we finished, there were 10 people in line and we laughed that it would be like an hour and half wait for the person in the back. Incredibly kind people, but a little slow.
This is a great example of "don't judge a book by it's cover"! This unimposing barbecue joint is actually offering up some serious Q. I enjoyed the brisket which was fork-tender and deliciously smoky, also some tasty housemade coleslaw and potato salad! They offer meat plates, a chopped beef sandwich and more. House BBQ sauce is just the right mix of tangy and sweet...Friendly service and reasonable prices top it off! Run by a husband and wife team the establishment is clean and pleasant. They also offer dining out of doors if you are so inclined. The establishment is BYOB and only open Wednesday through Sunday until the BBQ runs out....beware.
...went back on a Saturday and enjoyed the pork ribs, my wife had the chopped beef sandwich and beans. Ribs were meaty and delicious, her sandwich was generous and the beans were good. Tried the cherry cobbler for dessert which was scrumptious! Glad I went back today...
My husband and I stopped here on the way back home to Dallas. The gentleman who greeted us was such a kind man. As for the food, the brisket was delicious, and we loved the pickles too. My husband also enjoyed the ribs. We’d recommend.
Some of the best Texas bbq I've had - with the nicest people. Larry and Marlene were so kind & accommodating to our group while we were in Llano for the solar eclipse. They let us picnic in the side grassy area where we were able to catch the entire eclipse eating some awesome bbq. Thank you again to them for the hospitality and great food.
I will review this BBQ establishment on the level of the greatest.
One dines at Texas BBQ joints for one reason : brisket.
Suffice to say, the brisket is excellent and in fact, is the best I have had in awhile.
It is moist, with a perfect, crispy, caramelized surface.
The only detriment was the poor BBQ sauce.
The sausage was pretty good, but not great, as was the coleslaw.
However, the potato salad was excellent.
A worthy visit, and as I expect this to become greater patronized as it is discovered, the parking, which is already struggling, will become totally inadequate.
