Had to go to QMC for an antibiotic not in stock anywhere else. Was on Easter Bank Holiday Monday around 11:30. Found them to be professional & fast. Only had to wait around 20 minutes to collect the filled prescription & no queue when I handed in the prescription form. Was a blessed relief after a very stressful morning.
Pharmacy has 5+ staff but it takes 51 minutes to give prescriptions to 4 people. Seriously?
I was told delivery was being made today between 12-5, I rang the pharmacy to make sure my prescription was being delivered, I was arrogantly told “ if you’ve been told it’s out for delivery it’s out for delivery, they’ll deliver until 6pm. At 6.10 I rang back again as no prescription had been delivered. To then be questioned if I was sure it was via their pharmacy and what time I visited yesterday. After being on hold and was told my prescription ( for Quinsy) had been misfiled, but I could collect it if I wanted, not without transport I’m not. So it’s now being delivered tomorrow between 12-5. I’m writing a formal complaint as this simply isn’t good enough
I had a prescription to take from the pediatric for my son.
The lady who took my prescription was lovely, she was chatty and kind ask the relevant questions regarding the medication.
She said the wait is around 40 minutes which wasn't an issue.
I went for a coffee to pass time. Then went back after 45 minutes. waited in the queue to collect and waited another 30 minutes it's too long.
Staff can see the Queue getting bigger but seemed to be ignored.
Eventually, I get to the front and was told the prescription isn't available due to a shortage.
I ask how long until it's available so I can make arrangements to collect and she shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't know, I wasn't given a receipt or anything for the prescription.
Not even a follow-up, about the prescription which has been 2.5 weeks.
They need to sort the timings out
I get that they are busy sorting medication out for patients on the wards etc but please sort the waiting times outs.
Have medication ready to go when you call the number on screen rather than calling the number and making people wait has the medication isn't ready to collect.
Other than wait times I have never had any problems with this pharmacy, the staff I have spoken to on all different occasions have always been polite, informative.
Visited at 21.00, one person waiting before me but it took 40 minutes to issue two bottles of eye drops and even then they miscalculated the amount to be issued and gave me less than the prescription stated. If the staff spent more time working and less chatting and joking they might provide a better service.
You need to wait forever to get the tablets that you could get in 5 minutes if people were more faster and intelligent and less rude.
Miserable, unhelpful, rude and incompetent staff made this a depressing and difficult experience. As if being seriously ill isn’t bad enough, this lot want to make the lives of patients as bad as they obviously feel. My first time dealing with them, and I will do anything to avoid having to deal with them again. And it wasn’t just me - everyone they dealt with in the hour I was there was treated in the worst possible way. I am putting a letter of complaint in writing to the CEO of the trust.
Was the only place open until 12am on a sunday night. They had a consultation room which was really useful.
