2 occasions to use and visit THC this week ????. An enquiry on the easy to use Patches system resulted in an appointment in just 7 days....???? Secondly the reception staff ensured I was reunited with my phone that was left in reception......All this achieved with a cheerful disposition and friendly smile whilst the worried well swooped from all sides ???????? Thanks ladies ????
All staff are friendly and helpful. Treat them with respect and courtesy and thats how they treat you. Booking an appointment was a simple phone call, used the call back option, worked brilliantly. Health care professional at my appointment was thorough and professional, have a follow up booked with a GP for next week (easily booked immediately after my appointment by a very friendly receptionist).
New review December 2023
Much improved service this year with a call-back system in place so people don't have to hang on to a phone for lengthy periods. I have been dealt with exceptionally efficiently by all staff. My own Doctor has been very good. I have no complaints and I am extremely satisfied with the service that I doubt could have been improved upon.
Below is an old review.
First of all its difficult getting through on the phone so it easier to just walk in to make appointment but they don't like that.
Lady who took call from me a couple weeks ago was extremely nice - very calm voice. Some front end reception staff can look very stoney-faced (no need for that ladies).
I am concerned at being frequently told that shortage of staff is down to sickness. They have been telling us this for the past couple years. What is wrong with these people. Is this an excuse for them having trouble recruiting!
With regard to recruiting - well would you want to work in this town when there are far better places to work. I know what I would prefer.
I would like to know what is really the issue with this Surgery. When I have been to the surgery it appears the place is almost empty. Take a walk to the other waiting areas and there is hardly anyone to be seen, staff or patients.
Something doesn't look right to me!
Quick and efficient. The booking system can be a bit of a pain, and like pretty much every NHS service it can be stretched at times.
If you remember a pharmacy can help with lots of mild illness then it helps with reduce the queues for appointments with your GP.
Staff are always friendly and the Dr's are always attentive and have always been very helpful in the 4.5 years I have been with them
Phone up at 8.30, had an appointment for 09.30. receptionist always friendly and polite
I am not impressed - used to be with Bradford Road surgery and they were an excellent surgery. Since merging with other practices to create a larger surgery things have gone downhill. You can't get an appointment online anymore so you have to phone up - and then get a message saying they are experiencing a high volume of calls and to try again later. Bit difficult when you work full time and are on the phones during the day. The alternative is to go there physically - also a bit difficult when working full time. If you manage to get there after work, all appointments (for the following week) are gone. I have been trying to make an appointment for 4 weeks to renew some medication as I needed a two month review - I have now run out of one of the meds. Appointments are released a week ahead so forget getting an appointment if you can't get through on the phone first thing in the morning. If you do manage to actually make an appointment you have to wait past your allotted time although there are hardly any people in the waiting room. The only good part is that once you do manage to see a GP they are (mostly) very good.
friendly helpful staff . not too long to wait to be seen once youre there.. i think they need to go back to being able to call to book apts quickly if necessary.
When you think that THC is a combination of 3 former surgeries that combined to make a "super" surgery, you would have thought that the experience of actually getting to see one of the 17 doctors, yes, that's right 17 doctors, would be quite straightforward BUT, even when you do finally get to actually see a doctor, not a practice nurse, or a paramedic, the first thing you get asked is "why did you want a face to face meeting with me?".
What's that all about?
Isn't it enough that a senior G.P will be earning upwards of £150,000 p.a?
Get real people and start providing a decent service for which we ultimately pay for.
