I eat Tropical Smoothie a lot and have my regular menu items. Yesterday was my first time visiting this one in Countryside Mall and I must say the only one I’ve been to that has had horrible tasting food and smoothie. Neither were made correctly and it was evident by the only two employees working (both teenagers) that they had no clue how to make any of the items. It took awhile for them to make my smoothie due to them having to refer back to even what was in it and being confused. Even longer to make my Buffalo Chicken wrap! When I got my wrap immediately I knew something was wrong. It was HOT and flattened to where I didn’t think anything was even in the wrap. I was right because there wasn’t much. Barely any chicken, the lettuce and cheese were so hot it wilted and runny. It fell apart as soon as I opened it up. Took it back to them to let them see and advise it was not made correctly and show them barely anything in my $10 wrap!!! I got nothing but a confused stare. Then the employee tried to explain they just come like that but I know better. I asked for the manager and he completely ignored my request, then offered to remake it. I’m reasonable so I said could you please. 10 mins later I get the exact same wrap and pressed even longer than the first one the wrapping that it was in had steam coming off it. I was very disappointed and just threw it away. It was clear the young employees didn’t know much or care but even more disturbing is they clearly weren’t properly trained and left to tend the store alone.
Don’t even bother going to the countryside mall location if anyone is standing in line! They had ONE person taking the orders AND making smoothies. I waited for 10 minutes, and the line never moved. There were 6 people ahead of me. What a joke.
Poorly made smoothies. I’m editing this post to remove my complaint about how long it took to make them. Things happen. But my constant and consistent frustration with this location in the mall and almost every single tropical smoothie is how poorly made the smoothies are. When you go to a location that does it right, it blows you away and you’re like, woah, they are supposed to taste this good??? I think it’s a leadership issue.
We were looking for a place to have a good smoothie and found one in the food court of countryside Mall. Clearly popular as it had the largest line and my wife and I were able to have our Acai Berry and Triple Berry Oats with 24 ounces of liquids on a hot day.
Spent $10 and waited over 15 minutes for one burrito when I was the only person there, no one else came up to order and at least 3 employees were there and it ended up tasting horrible, only good thing I can say is the counter is probably really clean cause the one kid wiped it 3-4 times in the time I was there
1/2 smoothies was good only reason I’m even giving a star and so I’m able to post a review.
My child was drinking a Bahama mama smoothie and was coughing a lot so my husband took it and tried it and these plastic sharp pieces came up and we are now having to observe our child if he’s okay or not cause he possibly swallowed PLASTIC from their smoothie.
The gentleman working in the front was very angry slamming stuff, saying angry things and rushing, he was on his phone when I got to the counter didn’t even make eye contact with me until I said we have plastic in our smoothie he then took it and poured it out in back and confirmed there was more plastic in the rest of the smoothie. He shrugged and said “I’m sorry I guess but I have no clue what that was” and did issue me a refund not question asked I will give that to him.
But just very unpleasant experience for sure when these smoothies aren’t cheap and we were just excited to treat ourselves to a couple…. I think you need more staff working cause he had to many orders to himself and rushing puts peoples health at risk.
I ordered a bacon grilled cheese, smoothie, and cookie. This is what the sandwich looked like - the cheese was super dry and bread was rock hard, I threw it away and did not even try to eat it. They were out of regular sized cup lids so they gave me two kiddie cups which both had smoothie leaking all over the sides and they forgot my snickerdoodle cookie. This place is a mess and needs huge management changes. Also the vicinity smelled like a portapotty.
Horrible customer service! The employee appeared at 11:00 on the dot, and then set up the counter little by little during customers' orders. She really didn't talk much or have any expression. The items the 2 of us ordered were a Kiwi Quencher and a Santa Fe Quesadilla. When I asked her if the bananas were fresh (since they weren't out where they could be seen), she said yes, and then she gave me one with a 2-inch black bruise. The only reasons I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because she actually saved us money by ringing up our 2 orders as a combo and because the food and smoothie were so delicious and healthy.
