Variety of options of fresh smoothies available and a good seating place.
Got a pomegranate plunge. They took 20 mins for one order. Didn't make it correctly, it tasted like guava and didn't seem to match the ingredients it was supposed to have.
Went inside to order 1 smoothie, at 11am. They're was only one lady in front of me waiting for a DoorDash order (2 smoothies). At the time they're were 2 employees and about 3 cars in the drive thru. One of the women kept saying "be with you shortly" 3-4x. Then proceeded to make online orders and other door dash others while the other employee looked clueless making a bowl and calling someone on the phone to ask "where the bowl lids are". So finally at 11:26 I asked the young lady about how long until she is able to take my order, she then replied "what are you getting" and proceeded to make my smoothie. Although she was friendly, the wait time was absolutely outrageous and had I not asked her I would've been waiting even longer. Unreal.
Very nice selection of drinks. They taste very scrumptious and delicious. The floors are very slick and nice. The walls are the color of heaven. And the smoothie machine maker is the color of angels and makes the sound of angelic trumpets. I could listen to the customer service people's voices all day long. Mm mm mmmmm. I have a dream that one this nation will be called the united tropical smoothie cafes of America . I have a dream that one day we will all be holding hands while drinking tropical smoothie cafe smoothies. Amen
The shop was so clean and the people were so nice. The food and smoothies were amazing well worth the money. Thank you for and amazing and safe place to eat during this pandemic. When I told the person taking my order about an allergy she made sure all our smoothies were made in sanitized blenders.
Great experience here. Ordered a peanut paradise smoothie and avocolada smoothie. Also tried the peanut butter, banana, and granola crunch wrap (or something like that). Especially liked that the smoothies were on special in the morning. Great, fast, friendly service. We were greeted right away. I'd return if I were in the area.
I have a love/hate relationship with both Harrisonburg location Tropical Smoothie Cafes. When they’re open, the food and smoothies are delicious but they regularly close early or are closed completely without notice. They never update their online hours and have caused me to waste my time and gas MANY times. Today was the final straw. I was used to the Port Republic location being closed so I placed an online order for Linda Lane. Everything went through perfectly through the app and I was charged only for me to arrive to Linda Lane to see they they decided to close early today. The open sign was still on and everything. I’m over it. I would love to say I won’t be returning anymore but I guess I’m a glutton for punishment because I love their smoothies.
I will absolutely be calling tomorrow for a refund but that depends on if they decide to open and if they decide to pick up the phone. I’m FRUSTRATED. And now I’m hungry and will have to get some unhealthy fast food.
I read some bad reviews, and many good ones too about this place, but decided to try it for myself.
My wife and I walked in to a smiling employee greeting us on Aug 4 2023 around 7.30pm. Wish I had her name. She helped us right away, and gave us our smoothies with a smile.
