I like the style of haircuts here. They do a good job with Asian hair that other salons can’t do. I’ve been going to this place since they were in SF and I still make the drive to Fremont to get my haircut. The skill of hair stylist and time they spend is worth the price. Make an appointment in advance.
After $190 of cut and bang softening treatment, it is a disaster. My hair is so f up and I have to wear baseball cap for a long while. ????
Update: After 2-3 weeks, I noticed some really short hair at the top of my head, where they applied solution for “softening treatment”. These are not baby hair (usually very fine at the tip) but from hairs broke off due to this treatment. The damage is a lot more severe than a bad haircut. It will take more than a year for these broken hair to grow to a length pass my eye brows.
They have a huge people flow, every stylist is tending about 3 customers and a helper runs around doing the small tasks. Good service but I feel like I'm allergic to one of their products they used on me without testing. I did like the results. I'm not returning in the future due to distance but great for people who are looking for a quick style up.
There are reasons for the low rating. As other reviews have said, a hair stylist has to serve several clients at the same time, how can it be possible for the client to have a good experience. In addition, the skills of the hairstylist are also average. I feel no different from other hairdressers who charge 30 dollars. It costs 128 dollars for a haircut, and it is close to 150 after tax, which is not worth it at all. Won't go there again, very bad experience.
Took the advice of Mint and Shy, try a new style with color. Really like the new look and the new color goes well with my skin tone. Shy also taught me how to blow dry and curl the hair so I can do it myself at home. Very great ppl :)
Made an appointment, waited for 40m, was told still one more customer in front of me, had to leave as I don't have a whole day waiting for a haircut.
Very disappointed, if you cannot honor appointments, don't take them
Looove this place! Got a GREAT haircut at this spot! Thats me on the left picture below... ended up chopping all my hair off at this cute place in china town after i bought the green Chinese shirt i am wearing... it was time for a change! Before and after photos below... when its time to chop off your damaged hair... its time! My hair feels MUCH healthier now and light and fresh! ????
This place is the worst salon ever. I went in and asked for a simple trim, the hair dresser Mint, messed my hair up so bad. He some how cut out all these weird uneven "layers", and now all my hair are just like many little pieces pointing all different directions, and it looks super frizzy and so ugly!! He also thinned out my hair so much when I asked for volumes and keep the same length. It's gonna take forever for my hair to grow so I can get rid of all these messy uneven length. Also service is really bad here, I made an appointment, arrived on time and had to wait for 20min, then when it's finally my turn, this Mint guy spent like 15 min on my hair, while being super distracted and talking to 10 people at the same time, and was clearly rushing. There's no front desk, the environment is very chaotic, people there are incredibly loud, and the hair washing station downstairs looks super shady like a crime scene. Overall just a very horrible experience, I feel sad and depressed every time I see my hair in the mirror. If you don't want this kind of traumatic experience, avoid this place at all cost..
