Went in for a haircut on a whim. The girl that cut my hair was young and I was a little hesitant at first. She did an awesome job. Very friendly atmosphere and very professional. After recommending that the rest of my family give them a try, we all are loyal customers!!
I have been there and been pleased with service.
I attended a performance at the Academy of fine arts and the owner and staff sat behind us. They were intoxicated, obnoxious, and rude. I will never support their business due to their behavior in public and disrespect to others sitting around them that have paid money to attend the performance. Grow up people!
Sydney is the best! She cuts my hair exactly as I ask and it grows out as I want. She does a great scalp massage if you want a shampoo after your cut. Tip her well she's awesome and deserves it!
A very friendly salon, both stylists and clientele. Sydney does a great haircut.
Best salon in the surrounding area!! Top-notch stylists who do high quality work in a cozy and comfortable environment. Always professional and always friendly. Not to mention the fact that the owner of the salon is a straight up smokeshow! I'm not kidding either, she's even hotter than a grease fire on the 4th of July!!!
They are the best. Kelly is my stylist, and she has always done a great job with my hair cuts and color. Debra is the nail tech, and likewise, she is excellent.
They are all a very caring group of ladies!
They are absolutely the best won't go anywhere else to get my hair done!
I’ve had some great salon experiences in the past and I would have to say that my experience at Trimmers was kind of average?
Pros:
The receptionist and several of the stylists were so, so pleasant! It seemed like there was a great atmosphere here. The receptionist in the mornings (Sheila?) is particular easy and friendly to talk to.
Cons:
I left with my hair looking pretty similar to how it was when I came in (my before and after photos look almost identical). My stylist was fairly rough (though not painful) with my head during the visit. She had mentioned liking when people were quiet and trusted her while she did her job, so I closed my eyes through a good portion of the visit to let her do her thing after explaining in detail what I wanted and my hair history. At one point she dropped darker dye onto my much lighter ends that were not being dyed (which she did manage to get out with solution before it left any splotches so props there). I’d say the experience felt similar to when I was a broke college student and couldn’t afford a nice hair salon.
All that said, I would probably still have rated this salon 4 stars for the atmosphere. The reason I’m dropping an extra star is because once I was done running errands for the day, I got home and realized that it looked like my roots were still visible (only dyed slightly darker now) and didn’t blend with my previous highlights at the old root line (my hair had grown a little more than an inch in between colorings). I thought I was just being picky but we’re three days in and no matter what mirror or lighting I have, I can see the inch of regrowth that I’d gone in to address. Where the dye was applied feels and looks waxy and has given me that coveted “I haven’t showered in three days” look even when my hair is pulled up. I’ve managed to get the waxy feeling to die down a bit by washing my hair multiple times and dry shampoo but it’s still present. I’m religious about using natural/vegan products in my hair, so this is something I haven’t dealt with since my box dye college days. It’s not the post-salon “omg I must show off my new hair” experience that I usually leave with. I really wanted to love this salon because it came so highly recommended.
I have reached out to the salon for advice on removing the waxy feeling/look without killing my hair.
Update: I went in and spoke with who I assume was the manager and she kept repeating that “it fades beautifully” and touching the coloring that was from my former dye job and that it was probably my shampoo/parabens and I just needed a clarifying shampoo. Several coworkers confirmed that this was not the case today and my sister stated that “it looks like she just gave you grown out highlights”. I would attach a photo here to show the difference in my roots/hair, but alas, you cannot. For $77, I will not return.
Side note: At no point during this process did I ask for a refund. In fact, I stated that I did not want one because it was a service rendered. I mainly wanted a solution to removing the waxiness.
