If you need a place to stay in Trawden or nearby this is a great option. The pub is a vibrant part of the Trawden community offering a wide range of beers and wines and excellent fresh cooked food. The rooms are in a detached block opposite the pub adjoining the beer garden. The building used to be a woodworking workshop and the heritage of the building is tastefully reflected in a very nice 'postindustrial chic' decor. Rooms and bathrooms very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely. Definitely one to come back to.
We had a fantastic afternoon meeting family yesterday. Jamie and his team served lunch for almost 30 of us, from different menus. It was delicious, hot and well timed.
Thank you all.... Great job!
Would definitely recommend.
Fabulous visit twice over this weekend Friday 26th April and Saturday for Food Excellent our friends stayed here Saturday but it was booked up for our visit but they said they had a lovely Breakfast and the room was super. Staff was very friendly and also the customers
Great meal after a walk round the surrounding hills! They have a fire ???? too to warm up after wet wanders!
Food and service was great ???? a lovely country pub ????
The location was great and there were lots of parking on the side street if you couldn't use their carpark.
Easy access to the local footpaths
The meal I had was the mozzarella chicken special. It was lovely to see the range of non alcoholic drinks options too!
We had a family birthday meal for 8 at Trawden arms 24.01.24. We could not fault a thing. From service to The food being served. Absolutely delicious. Great staff was made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend the food. Thank you .The Robinson family x
The Service, Hospitality and Rooms were second to none. The Christmas meal was spoilt by Processed Turkey ,pigs in blankets obviously from some sort of freezer store and a Gravy more suited to Beef than Turkey ???? would have been better served in a gravy boat/ jug rather than swimming on the plate! .The creamed Sprouts, Bacon and Walnuts were very tasty along with the Chocolate Fudge and Ice-cream .The Rooms are excellent and we had a Fantastic Breakfast. Personally I don't find Karaoke particularly good and so it put an early end to the Evening, too loud not really in keeping with the time of year ????.????????????
We stayed at The Trawden Arms for a few days when we were attending a wedding in Trawden. Jamie and his team are amazing, great hospitality and such a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and are really well furnished with everything you need. The public bar has great beer and staff. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thanks to all who made us welcome and made our stay so pleasant.
Visited the Trawden Arms 3 times in January. Our first visit unfortunately didn’t go that well. We went for lunch just after the New Year but the chef wasn’t working so no food was available. Still we got a chance to see the venue and look at the menus. The member of staff and the two locals at the bar seemed friendly enough and we were impressed enough with what we saw to want to go back.
We have dined there twice since. Our first visit was on a Thursday and we took advantage of the offer running Tuesday to Thursday throughout January offering 20% off all main courses. Our second visit was on a Friday where two of us went for the deal on fish and chips. 2 for £22.00.
For both visits we got a decent sized portion of very good food. I got the mixed grill with my colleagues going for the cheese and onion pie and the pie of the day which was steak and ale. I really enjoyed my mixed grill and the sausage and black pudding in particular were very tasty. On the second visit we had two lots of fish and chips and the gammon, egg and chips. The gammon was a huge portion. The fish was good but both of us would have preferred the batter a little crispier.
I was also impressed with the bar. They seemed to be a wide range of beers available on draught and very competitively priced. For example a pint of Camden IPA was £4.80 and Hobgoblin IPA £4.60. The wine list was ok. From memory I think they had a choice of 5 reds and 5 whites as well as rose and sparkling wines. 3 bottles of the red and the white were under £20 so again very competitively priced.
Service was friendly and efficient although on our first visit our server, who was on her own, looked to be rushed off her feet. It was very busy and she did well to cope single handed.
The establishment looked clean and tidy, well maintained with a range of options on where to sit. However, there were a couple of things which have stopped me giving the Trawden Arms five stars. There is a car park out back but it’s limited and there are no designated disabled spaces. However, there is access from the small car park into the pub which is suitable for those with mobility issues. On both occasions where we sat was quite cold. There is a large open fire which was blazing in the main room where the bar is but the heat from that isn’t enough to warm the whole pub. And on our second visit we noticed a specials board with 3 main courses on it. We hadn’t seen this on out first visit and out server didn’t make us aware that they had a specials menu on either visit. Finally it was only after we had finished our meals that our server asked if everything was ok. Thankfully it was and, as I said, on her first visit she was kept very busy.
Despite these minor issues we enjoyed our visits to this pub and would be happy to go back and dine there again.
