The presentation of food was beautiful, and the flavors blended beautifully together. The artichoke and mushroom appetizer are to die for. These alone will bring me back over and over again. My husband loved the Focaccia, pasta, his main dish, and his chocolate cake slice. They don't have a liquor license, but they serve tasteful drinks regardless. We will be coming back. Thank you for an amazing experience.
If you have Celiac, they do offer a gluten-free Focaccia, but the flour they use is the Caputo gluten-free flour that contains wheat starch (personally, I react to this so I steer clear) just wanted to give a fair warning ⚠️
The most auhentic italian food from Puglia outside italy!. The tomato sauce is good to die for! Also the Focaccia, the wine, the tiramisu...all said...and, as swiss people and country-neighbors from italy, we can highly recommend this Restaurant, the staff and chief Marco! Great food (3 Times) during the holidays...
I had to remind myself I was not in Italy. What an authentic italian restaurant. I had my pasta gluten free and it is hands down the best gluten free pasta ever!! The sauce it came in, WOW!! My pie was almond flour based, too!! Exceptional dessert. It is obvious the owner cares about quality. The amount of thought and detail put into the food, service, and restaurant is nothing but quality. The owner is not there to make money, the owner is there to provide an experience. So cancel your flight to Italy and come here instead.
Newer southern Italian trattoria in Aliso Viejo town center. Delightfully decorated and clean dining room and patio. Personable and attentive service. We ordered brocolli rabe orecchiette, braised artichoke hearts and salad for a late afternoon lunch. Delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. Artichoke hearts unfortunately had a few bits too fibrous to chew. Overall, we were happy and will return to try more dishes!
Update (Meal #2): OMG! 4 stars to 5 STARS! For our second meal here, we had delicious salads plus spectacular main courses of Lasagna and also Spaghetti Pomodoro. Distinct sauces for each dish. Flavors of homemade pasta superb. Spaghett was cooked al dente to perfection. Lasagna had 7 perfect thin layers hugging the two sauces. Hats off to the chef!
Just had an amazing first experience at Trullo Trattoria! The food is fantastic, and Chef Marco personally attends to every table, adding a special touch. Authentic Italian cuisine that's hard to come by these days. Priceless experience - we'll definitely be returning!
Wonderful experience here, I had exceptional service from all of the staff. The vibe is contemporary and modern, I’m glad I didn’t dress too casual. Would be great for date nights or celebration. I had gluten and dairy dietary restrictions… the kitchen and waitress was very accommodating. I also am still raving about the orecchiette (the gf rigatoni version) which I had. I had specially made focaccia bread which was soo good, I haven’t had Italian like this in so very long.. I could cry. My friend had no restrictions and loved everything.. especially the cheeses. I’ve been telling my friends nonstop about this restaurant and will be coming back over and over again. Love it!

The food was delicious and we left comments for your chef about how much we enjoyed it. However, it's not always the food that brings customers back again. Sienna, our server was so delightful and engaging. She made our experience a very favorable one. She was quite knowledgeable about the menu and although it wasn't extremely busy at the time, one can tell she was capable of handling her tables more than adequately.
We will pass on our enjoyable experience to friends.
This restaurant is a true gem for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend!
