Best KPortal Reviews
I took my girlfriend out for Valentine's day and was very happy to get reservations the day before, Neither of us had been there before and it got great reviews. The restaurant was very nice, and exactly what I wanted for our special night and the atmosphere, service and quality of food lived up to the reviews. It was quaint, quiet, seating perhaps 25 guests. Service was great , food was delicious, and we had a very nice dinner and I would recommend them wholeheartedly
The only things I can say that were negative were the parking. Ross has parking spaces in a very limited supply in that area which is not the restaurants fault.
The other was the cost, the reviews on line gave $$$ out of 5. I did not want the price of our meal to put a damper on our evening, so I was not caught unprepared when the bill came. I have no problem spending money taking my girlfriend out, , but in this case the cost would make me think twice before returning again. Let me explain - We were having a romantic dinner we shared a salad, and after dinner a wonderful dessert with coffees. She had a glass of wine , I had a beer, with our dinners ,all said and done with tax and tip was 150. Like I said everything was great , just a bit pricey for Italian food for 2 people. Keeping in mind the cost of living has gone up the last 3 years , and we are in Marin, plus being Valentine's Day all played a part in the overall cost. I am glad to see places to dine out are still out there trying to make it after COVID shut so many down .
Go try the place out ,eat, drink and make merriment. Decide for yourself if the bang is worth the bucks you spend.
I recommend you not come here if you plan on bringing children. The restaurant is not family friendly.
The manager became rude when learning that some in our reservation were children to the point that we didn’t feel welcome (tossing silverware around mumbling to himself). There was no one else in the restaurant! He ultimately told us to eat at the pizza parlor across the road. No thanks.
I was working in the office in the evening, so I ordered the rustica pizza to go, and it was excellent. Marco made it in a style reminiscent of Capri, with a strong Naples influence. It was ready in under a half-hour.
Thou shalt not find better pasta. This is a one-man show, so be a respectful customer and you will have a wonderful experience!!
We are so fortunate to live close by to Trattoria Fresco. All the dishes were delicious and authentic, and we felt at home as if you were somewhere in a nice villege or town in Italy. One of our favorite restaurants. We look forward to returning again and again!
Wonderful little neighborhood restaurant that feels low key and casual, serving really delicious, fairly priced and very nicely prepared food. Service was friendly and very much on top of it. We (wife and I) split two things. A vegitarian pesto Pinse/flatbread and Romana salad. Both delicious, and plenty of food for both of us. Look forward to going back.
Worst server I’ve ever encountered in my life!!! We stopped by at around 640 pm on Saturday and wanted to take food to go. We are not quite ready to dine out just yet but we want to support local business. We stood outside and waited for the server to come out. He came out and literally forced the menu on my partner without even looking at us and went to clean the only table that had just left. We patiently waited for him to come out again to take our order, he came out again (and without looking at us) said to my partner in an extremely rude tone “what do you need?” If I could give zero star, I would. Of course we left. We know the pandemic has hit the restaurants extremely hard, we do what we can to help and we never expect full service. We are just grateful restaurants are open so we don’t have to eat the same frozen food everyday. Having said that, it does not excuse for such rude behavior pandemic or not.
…the owner is a one man show doing all he can to survive the pandemic….so its ok if service takes a little longer…. because the food and wine are excellent and worth the wait … an intimate casual dining experience that feels like you’re eating in Nona”s kitchen
