Fast, cheap and good: pick two. Dennis is cheap and well worth the wait. He is detailed and gives each customer the time it takes to see their problem to a pleasantly economical solution.
You won't find a more honest or reasonable mechanic than Dennis at Trans II. The first time I met him he treated me like an old friend who he hadn't seen me in years. He is very knowledgeable and it shows in his work. I've never had to return to him to re fix an issue he tried to resolve on a prior visit. He has fixed two mistakes made by a local dealership shop for me. I'll be bringing my cars there for as long as he decides to stick around!

Typically there is a wait for non emergency repairs and service.
Dennis is an extreme professional who will do his best to help you get it fixed right but still try to save you money. He avoids unnecessary work that others would make you believe you had to have. Best and fairest in Melbourne by far. Only problem is everybody wants him to work on their cars so you may have to wait your turn but you won't be told it'll be a short while only to sit in a waiting room all day. Straight up guy!!
I've been here a few times and every time it's been a good experience. I've been here for oil and tire changes in the past and always appreciated the quality of work. Most recently both the front bumper and lower grille of my Mustang was damaged by debris in the road. Dennis fixed the massive dent and secured the grille in about half an hour and it looks good as new. I've gone here for most of my car related issues and will continue to do so. 5 stars.
I went to Dennis over almost 2 yrs ago to fix an issue with my Mercedes Trans not shifting properly. He changed the conductor plate and did some minor repairs and got rid of the old fluid and put in some Redline D4 which I brought. It's been running smooth ever since. Just saw him last week to change the filter and flush replace the fluid on my 2015 Toyota Camry. Put in some Redline D6 and it is running smooth now. I highly recommend Dennis, he has saved me a lot of $$$ and is an honest man and did what I wanted without any issues. Dennis is a transmission man and he can rebuild your transmission better than new in some cases. When you go to a dealer they don't do the rebuilds nor do they have the expertise.
I recommend you change the trans fluid and filter (if it is easily accessible from under the car) every 30-40k miles. Whether you have a Mercedes, BMW or Toyota or Lexus, although the dealers try to discourage you from doing it and even if the manual says don't do it until 60k or 120k, do your research and change the fluids and use a high quality synthetic like Redline. I did mine at 32k to get rid of the Toyota WS. You wouldn't let your engine run to 100k miles without changing the oil. While you don't need to change the trans fluid and filter every 5-6k, you should change it every 30-40k. Of course do it at your own risk and don't hold me liable.
The best service I have found in Melbourne. Expertly took care of my automatic transmission. Even went out his way to get a used part to save me an unnecessarily high repair bill. Will be my only mechanic from now on.
He is our mechanic for life. Rare honest and good to the core person who just happens to love cats, dogs and raccoons! ♥ Thankful for this man! So glad we have him around to work on our cars!
