This is a great little place with lots of parking especially for big rigs. The food tasted good and the portion sizes were great for the price. I had the beef and bean smothered burrito, my husband had the beef taco salad then we split a yummy piece of Rhubarb Strawberry pie...Even though the waitress thought we were crazy for it, they topped it off with a slice of melted American cheese on request and it was delicious.
I've been coming here for over 2 years now. every time I come through Colorado I have to stop and get an ultimate burger. I've been to 48 states and this is the best burger anywhere. I gave four stars because they skimped me on toppings this time.. they did it to me once before but not this bad. If it happens again I'll say something and make them fix it or give me a refund.
While riding through Colorado, my motorcycle buddy and I were very hungry and had just stopped and remarked that it would be magic if a restaurant popped up near us. about 90 seconds down the road, there was the Trading Post! We parked our bikes and walked in. It was a simple place but looked clean enough. It was busy, too. There was a Sunday buffet and they had no shortage of local customers. I had a good feeling about the place when we noticed the big Colorado Beef Producers sign out front.
I ordered a double burger. My mistake as the patties were 1/3lb each. Got tater tots with it. No booze so I had a hot tea. I managed to finish it. It was one of the better burgers I've had on the road. Fresh toppings and quite fast. We ate, drank and enjoyed and got back on the road along Hwy 94 where there were NO services for 85 miles. Glad my tank was close to full.
This place is truly in the middle of NOWHERE but if I pass through again I will be sure to drop in again.
I really enjoyed the great food here. I love that they have truck parking here in the middle of nowhere lol. Need to fix that bathroom though, under construction.
I definitely will be back though
Good, hearty American style fare at reasonable prices. Good service even when they are busy. They have limited gravelled parking next door suitable for big trucks, and there is a dirt lot with huge dips and craters in it across the highway for the adventurous.
Love it. Yes they had no ice and were only serving burgers but who cares when the burgers are so bloody good. Drinks were cold enough and the lovely lady serving was so kind to the locals and not so locals. We wanted to split a burger and she brought it out on two plates for us. I heard her say they were hoping to get the repairs done in the next couple of days. What do you do when you’re out in the middle of no man’s land? A thousand times better than a franchise drive through!
This is a pretty good restaurant with decent coffee to help keep you awake for the road ahead. The pie is quite tasty too, we would definitely recommend that if you go there. They also had clean bathrooms, which was nice to see. The service is fine as well.
Steak was slightly over cooked but still very good. Local Sheriff in there cracking jokes lol. Mash potatoes and onion rings on point.
