Best KPortal Reviews
The service was absolutely awful. It is very rare for me to leave a bad review, as we typically side with the servers who are more often than not over paid and under worked. However, there is no excuse for a poor attitude, and simply ignoring a five top. We sat there for legitimately 20 minutes, without even a glance our way. When I finally walked up to one of the servers to ask, if one of them was taken care of our section, I was told very brusquely. I’ll be there in a minute. And she went back to her casual conversation with her friend. Then she started heading our way and bypassed us to take care of the table that has been there for 10 minutes less than us. When she finally made her way to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink, we said that we would go ahead and place our whole order and her reply was oh sorry the kitchen closed 10 minutes ago. We had already been there for 25 minutes. Regardless, if she had greeted us immediately and let us know that the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes, we would not have ordered. We are not those people that are going to place an order right as the kitchen is closing we know that they have things to do. But to simply ignore us, and then give us attitude was unacceptable. We will not be back. The food could be exceptional and the location is certainly convenient, but so much of what you pay for service and that simply wasn’t there at this location. Very sad.
Stopped in for lunch at Town Club Bar and Grill while driving thru Elk Rapids. The fried chicken salad with dill dressing was reccomended and delish. Server was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was pub-ish with a sports theme. Will stop in again next time thru.
We've eaten at the Town Club for over 30 years. We miss the old Town club. It had great food, great prices, great atmosphere, etc. That's all gone now.
It's continually gone downhill since Covid. Service is slow, food is marginal, prices are high for what you get.
They used to have the best burgers around. Not the case anymore.
We ordered cheeseburgers cooked medium. They were "well done", not medium. The cheese was the size of a postage stamp. I asked for a tomato. It was 1.5" in diameter if that.
I ordered a basket of onion rings for $10.00. There were 9 (small to medium) onion rings in the basket. Are you kidding me.
The only thing I saw as an improvement, was the sound deadening they added to the ceiling.
I think I ate my last meal at the Towne Club.
Not sure what the problems are, but if they're not addressed, they won't be in business much longer. I know everyones business has labor issues since Americans apparently don't want to work anymore. Pretty sad state of affairs; that's for sure.
I wish the Towne Club the best of luck, but I won't be back until I see some positive changes. There are other establishments for dinner, and based on the reviews, I'm not the only one that feels this way.
Good luck. Hope you get it figured out.
Couldn't tell you about the food because they closed the kitchen at 9 pm. Wild thought process to not serve apps at least. We would've bought $100 worth of food on a Friday night at 9:30 as a group of 6 otherwise.
ANDDDD they got rid of the pool tables. There was a good vibe and reason to stay but it's a meh situation now. Maybe your revenue would increase if you listened to customers wants ????♂️
Update: we had to walk to our drinks at the bar(not a big deal if the bartender wasn't making a scene about it) and the hallway to the bathroom is completely dark... not a single light on.
The one high point was the young waitress, Maddie, she was attentive and helpful. Other than that, there is no reason to come here in my mind.
Great food! Try their specials! They are even better than the already delicious food. Prime rib night will leave you stuffed and happy and wanting to go back! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a friendly not uptight atmosphere where people actually love their jobs and you can taste it in the food and feel it in the atmosphere!
Having a hometown tavern is great. The food is consistently good bar type food. The service is good and friendly but often understaffed. I was pleasantly surprised when some friends joined me for dinner the other night at the TC. We found that the music was at a pleasant level. We could talk and carry on a conversation. Sound absorbing baffles have been installed in the ceiling and that help with the sound reverberation. Thank you Town Club! I'm excited to make our old gathering place a regular stop again.
Excellent food, fast service! We have been to this restaurant two times about two years apart and nothing has changed. The chicken gyro is absolutely amazing and the fries are great. The outside does not do this restaurant justice. Love it. We'll be back.
We went to the Town Club for our ‘date anniversary’ and looked forward to the wings we had before. They didn’t disappoint. I had their walleye fish fry which was very good too. The only thing I wish was better were the French fries with the fish.
