At times, gone seems the way of honor, honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness, and it saddens me.
Shop ownership changed a couple of years ago, and I tried to maintain the patronage, well I did until this year. Its location was convenient so a huge plus, especially since I had been going for so many years. Well, now owner did not honor the service price quoted to me, by the assistant, after I stayed in that shop for hours the week before to ensure I ordered the correct part for the job. The assistant, there the entire time, agreed he gave me that price, he even confirmed it by pulling it up again in the same system so the owner saw it himself. Perhaps not wanting to be wrong or shown up, he stood firm on charging me more. Sad example for any employee.
Then I was told the turbo was cracked, and I needed $2 - $300 part from the dealer. I went in that day planning to pay $2-$300 and no exaggeration, left $1300 lighter! I got home and realized the Motorcraft or similar battery I paid for was instead a cheap auto zone store brand. I went back and the owner himself gave me a story about if there was a problem with the battery in the future, it would be covered and this, and that --- had 0 to do with charging me for a more expensive part then putting the cheapest one on my vehicle.
Doesn't end there, about 2 weeks later, while preparing to replace a sparkplug, not at this shop, I am told "oh looks like this piece on the turbo is broken. WHAT! He said, "Well, these are really easy to break off if you are not careful, I have broken them myself." I said,"I JUST HAD THAT PUT ON 2 WEEKS AGO!, they broke it and didn't tell me because they had already been taking advantage of me and they did not want to pay for that part themselves. What can I do?" He said, unfortunately, they absolutely knew it was broken before you left because they would have needed to attach the tubes (or something he said) on those pieces, but the chance of them admitting that now is slim to none. He said that once you leave, they can simply say it wasn't like that when you left. They know if you bring the vehicle to them to repair it, you likely won't know the full before and after under the hood. His advice was to let it go, as the lack of integrity was evident and to allow them to get back under the hood, should they have owned up to it, may result in "other" costly discoveries.
For me to have continued to have my vehicles serviced there, after they backed out the garage and broke off the side view mirror on my truck (because accidents happen), after watching people come in and haggle and I simply get the quote and pay, and took them at their word when they say this and that was needed, to be treated that way, lied to, given a story that makes no sense to cover up the part swap lie, provided a price directly from their system NO DISCOUNT then when part arrives and I show up for service not honor it, instead charged an excessive amount more and the employees admit it was a standard job on an American vehicle, and they were sorry he marked it up.
As owner, he tells the employees not to go below system quoted prices, it's his call, which is why I was given that quote. For the owner to then turn around and overcharge honest customers at will is disappointing and despicable. Every time I went, a customer would mention "Sam" or "Mel", the previous owner, and the great service received and how they missed him. I understand fully now and have the same sentiments. When Omar first took over I asked for, but he said the old owner left the country, then I see the previous owner personally, a short time after and he says, no, he hadn't left the country, I should have known there maybe a spirit of deception, but I brushed it off, thinking what was there to gain maybe it was a misunderstanding. I think it was because he didn't want existing customers to go down the street and turn the corner to follow him. Hindsight is 20/20, and as I think back, the signs have always been there, I just never figured it would hit me like it did. I'm crushed/sad.
Omar & his team ALWAYS provide top notch service! Anytime we have had issues with our vehicles, Omar & his team fixes the problem. They are thorough, quick, detailed, and provide excellent customer service. On top of all of this, their prices are great! I will always use Toto’s for all of my car troubles. I highly recommend them to anyone having car problems!
Omar is the man...NO joke he cares enough to know that shut ain't cheap but is still about his business...I'd you want or need car services, go to the green building on mccart. U WONT REGRET IT
I went to this place, me and one of the dudes had already agreed on a price for my tires about 20 minutes later he came back in saying he was almost done with my vehicle but that his boss changed the price we had agreed on. Leaving me no choice but to pay because I felt like if I didn't they were going to do something weird to my car.when I got in my car to drive away it felt weird and looked like the tires needed air so I checked the psi
And it was supposed to be at 40 but they left it at 17 psi I do not recommend going here the workers are nice the boss is very unprofessional.
Highly recommended. The owner Omar was very attentive and honest with the diagnose of my car, they were able to fix my car the same day even though they were extremely busy.
The Gentlemen at the counter with the beard at the McCart Location was very kind and respectful with me and every customer that came in. He gave fair prices for vehicle repairs and did not do anything to your vehicle that you don’t approve of doing . VERY GOOD BUSINESS & VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE✅
I’ve been coming here for 8 years to get tires put on and today I was told it would be an extra $30 on top of the install fee. They said because my wheels needed a lock tool to remove it. Or a “key” as they called it. That’s funny, my wheels don’t require a key to take off a wheel. So I went across the street and they did it without a so called key! Haha! And Toto tires said later that it’s a charge because we have new owners. So I guess they like to rip off customers and use the excuse of we have new owners to get ghost money out of naive people.
Yuppp the reviews are accurate Omar is THE man... So hard to find an honest decent repair place these days but you don't have to look any further... Kind and decent people here
