Be sure to order the Holy Sauce -- the 2 best things about Toshio's Teriyaki are the kimchi and the Holy Sauce.
I don't eat rotisserie chicken, so I can't comment on whether or not the Chicken Teriyaki at Toshio's is similar to rotisserie chicken as many claim. What I do like about the chicken is that it's moist, dark meat, skin on, slighlty charred, crisp and a touch smoky with a simple sweet sticky sauce that punches above its weight. A bit different from typical Seattle teriyaki but very good on flavor and freshness.
Whatever you order: don't forget the Holy Sauce!
Ordered the chicken teriyaki and the sauteed vegetables.
Heads up, they do not do substitutions. Seems like a small ask to sub out the salad and rice for sauteed vegetables. Especially when the salad looks so unappetizing, (wilted and drowned in dressing).
The teriyaki chicken was okay but had a lot of bones, tendons to fight through. They leave the skin on, not a critic, as some people like that just an fyi.
The sauteed vegetables had good flavor but were over done while also somehow cold in parts.
This establishment has a health department cleanliness rating of "Good" and it shows.
The atmosphere is cramped, the tables and the counter were sticky, and the area behind the counter was grimy and cluttered.
The parking is also very tight but not an issue for smaller cars.
There is outdoor seating as well.
Great experience with this classic Seattle food. Came for the Teriyaki was very satisfied with the portion. The kimchi is homemade by the owner and was the best kimchi I’ve ever had.
No idea how this restaurant has 4.2 stars. The food looks nothing like the pictures that are posted. The inside is a mess... so much clutter. There were 2 ladders in the dining room for whatever reason. The most alarming was the food itself. It is not nowhere near fresh. Both chicken and salmon looked like it had frostbite prior to guy putting it on the grill. We couldn't get past a few bites before my wife and I felt ill. I vomited when I got home and my wife didn't feel well either fir several hours. Not only are you paying for terrible tasting food, the prices are ridiculous. 2 meals and 2 egg rolls for $43. The worker at the cash register rang us up, and also went to start preparing food immediately afterwards, no hand hygiene or gloves put on when handling food. So unacceptable. Oh yeah and they charge you extra for sauces that should come with your meal.
Great food! Lots of options and anything can be customized.
One of the last family business in the neighborhood.
This location is pick-up & walk-up ONLY with 4-benches put in front. The food is good with good portions, But the continuing walk-up window at this stage is not offering the patrons much.
Pro Tip: Try the short-ribs, there's a reason why it gets sold-out. And ask for skin on the chicken well-done & sauce on the side.
Midas 4-stars if we are just talking food.
I was visiting Seattle on the hunt for the OG (not pretentious) teriyaki chicken/salmon I grew up with on the west coast and specifically choose here because it’s the original. The food was amazing 100% what I expected (all dark meat). Although if you are a thick teriyaki sauce lover like myself I would a suggest asking for extra on the side even if you get it over your rice. It soaks it up.

The service is interesting, you order through a window (not drive through window actual tilt open window) on the side. But it was fine and fast. But I do wish there has been indoor seating as there were quite a few bees as they also seem to know how wonderful that sweet teriyaki goodness is.
Food flavor, food quality, and taste is not consistent. Sometimes you get good food, and sometimes you get barely edible food. Actually sometimes you get food you want to throw away, and just give it to hungry craws, and seagull.
In this photo you see what was supposed to be beef teriyaki, but it was not
This place is designed mainly for take out to serve people on the go ,like working crews like construction or landscaping , not for elegant seating, or dine in.
Even their seating is outdoor in the parking lot.
I Don't recommend this place for taking a date ,or taking your lady for a dine in. It is a rough environment.
This place used to be good, used to make good food, not no more. It has changed alot. Now it is is capitalizing on its name, and prime location, it is just producing what ever food. Good or bad., But it is mostly bad, barely edible. No dine in. Just order, pay, and grab your food, and go. Not even go inside. All thru an open window , don't expect any more.
When you paid completely for something ,and when you get it, and you realize, it is not what you paid for, or what you asked for, that is called getting ripped off. This place does just that
I don't even recommend this place for even take out Teriyaki. Choose another place
