Sublime. Easily the best fish and chips I’ve had in 20 years or more. The batter is exquisite: I only wish I could make one like it for my Japanese tempura dishes. Everything was perfect tasting and really fresh. There is a little park just outside with benches, which is a nice place to eat. £9 for medium cod and chips.
Wow. Personally speaking this is the best cod and chips I’ve had for a very long time. Visiting from Penzance I’m no stranger to good fish and chips but, if you like chips that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and a good amount of crispy batter on a very decent sized piece of fish, all at a very reasonable price then this is the place for you. No grease, no measly portions, fair prices. I have to rate this place as my favourite fish and chip take away. Such a shame it’s so far away from where I live.
Daughter just got me Haddock and chips and never tasted a haddock like this one???? dont think it was haddock and it was dry like it had been left in the warmer too long, batter was flat and greasy very disappointed. Had fish and chips a couple of years ago and it was really nice.
The best cod roe and chips I've ever eaten. The chips were done in a light tempura style batter and were dry and crispy. The cod roe was very smooth and creamy with a very crispy batter. Will be back whenever I come to Torquay.
One of the best fish and chips I’ve eaten for long long time and really good excellent customer service. Buttered chips and cod are amazing. I would recommend to everyone who loves fish and chips.

I visited last night for the first time and I can honestly say this is some THE best fish & chips I have ever had! well done everyone at the Torquay Fryer I will be visiting again (and so will my friends) :)
So good to see thus little Gem open again and what a difference. Clean and welcoming. Fish lightly battered, nice and crisp not saturated in grease. Best chip I’ve ever had. This is definitely my local again now even though I live in Paignton, we’ll worth the drive. Well done guys.
