The owner made us feel welcome and demonstrated spinning wool as we browsed her beautiful handmade items. A bit out of the way, but that’s part of the attraction and it’s definitely worth the drive.
Lovely craft shop. Really really worth a visit when on Islay. My daughter and I bought some local yarn and a lovely knitting kit.
An incredible shop filled with items that are truly made with love and passion. Beautiful yarns and knit items and the most lovely owner. It’s a bit of a drive but absolutely worth it, and you can meet the sheep along the way who the wool comes from!
Definitely a worthwhile visit for any knitter, spinner, or crocheter visiting the island. Picked up some gorgeous wool and some fleece for spinning. Be warned: the road to get here is a little bumpy, but it's worth it. There are surprisingly few places that sell wool here (considering it's an island covered with sheep!) and mostly travelling round the west coast I have found that the shops, when you can find them, will only stock a small amount of wool and a larger selection of acrylic that can mostly be found anywhere. This place was a wonderful find, therefore!
A good selection of Jamesons knitting wool, some lovely handspun and hand dyed yarns, and a good selection of tools and notions. There are also beautiful finished items for sale for those who do not (yet) knit for themselves.
An amazing place and must see for anyone visiting Islay. The knitwear is top class, spun and knit traditionally and will last forever. Lots of other things - sticks, jams, or chose some wool and make your own.
Excellent traditional crafts, with beautiful knitting on site and to order. We have visited repeatedly and have never felt let down. Lovely drive to get there.
Great variety of home-worked goods and exemplary re-use of materials both industrial & natural. Really pleasant to chat to Anne about everything she and her husband produce: a real Aladdin's Cave of crafts.
THIS is a gem of a craft shop, hidden way off the road. Absolutely beautiful shop where no sheeps hair stags horns or whatever else are wasted. All stuff used and sold on. Takes credit cards as well. Definitely worth a visit.
