OVERALL EXPERIENCE: it's ok... to help deal with the craziness, I opt for take out. and even that took forever! Two orders of the pineapple bun w bbq pork, was a 15min wait (on a Tuesday, when they were not very busy)
SERVICE: True authentic experience of dim sum (the craziness and the rudeness)... and by rudeness this applies to both the ladies pushing the carts and the patrons. one of the ladies was rude/snappy and bless my mom... she called her out and the lady apologized and made up an excuse about another table... patrons are rude and lack personal space/boundaries!
ORDERED: Dim Sum is still served in carts (I know some have transitioned to ordering off the menu and removing the carts).
- typical variety of dim sum dishes
- my favorite, and an item that sets them apart from other dim sum restaurants, is their bolo bao (pineapple bun) with char siu (bbq pork)
PRICE: 10% off dim sum M-F, and reg price on the weekends ($5.89 per dish)
PARKING: large private lot, plenty of spots
Food: 4/5 stars
Service: 2/5 stars
Venue: 3/5
Awesome Chinese seafood restaurant! Great selection of cantonese dishes! The lettuce wraps were my favorite! Prices are $18+ for various dishes served family style so make sure to order enough for everyone.
A classic Chinese seafood/dim sum restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley. It's a regular for us when the extended family wants to get together. Good times. Reasonable prices.
The food was delicious. Service was fast and wonderful. Clean place, no wait for a table. Great family day.
So crowded on the weekends, it’s a huge restaurant though so waiting for a table wasn’t so bad. 2 people table wait was really fast but unfortunately we got sat next to where they clear plates so it was loud and smelly.
Good dimsums: tripe in the gravy, shuimai, rice rolls, chicken feet were not bad
Not worth getting was the pineapple chaoshao bun because it was so dense and the chaoshao was really fat.
I came to this restaurant a few times. There hasn't been many changes since my previous visits. Their food and the atmosphere of this restaurant are actual between average and good. That's why I gave them 3 stars.
However, I couldn't give any stars for their services. Here are my experiences: their waiters didn't yield to customers when they were walking to each other's direction. When the waiters were business, they simply ignored you. They should have acknowledged you and let you know they would attend to you later. When we made an inquiry about one of our fishes as to why it took so long, the waiter just explaining it away instead of checking it out. And I observed this kind of customer service started from the management and became the culture of this establishment.
While this restaurant has good food and good atmosphere, their customer service doesn't live up to that standard. When I go to eat in restaurant, I expect to have all three elements in place, otherwise I would just order take out. So, my last visit will be my last one (unless my friends insisting on treating me there.)
One of my favorite Chinese seafood restaurants. The king crab, lobster and steamed fish are to die for. They are fresh from the tank. Food is delicious and service is great. Be sure to ask for the chef special dessert. The special clam and geo-duck stir fry with snow peas is another to-die-for item. Dim sum is tasty and available until late afternoon. Nice restaurant for wedding banquets, birthday parties or other events.
One of my favorite places for dimsum. I've been coming here since I was in high school. The place hasn't changed a bit. Still the same taste. They do tend to be a little pushy with dishes that doesn't sell well though which is why I give it a 3 star for the service. Other than that, I love the place. I recommend the steamed pork ribs, chicken feet, shrimp dumplings and egg tarts.
