Quality of food has gone drastically downhill and was told 35 minute wait, which too an hour and 20 minutes.
Half a crispy duck, over done, chewy and extremely dry, filling half of a small tub. Special Chow mein was slimey and had no flavour - only half of the large tub had noodles . Ribs poor quality, very small and tiny amounts of meat.
I have always used this chinese in the past but I will not be going back.
The foods good but I don't understand why they lie about the wait time. I really try with this place because the food is decent, but you really can't use them because you just end up trapped in their waiting area all night. They take the money off you before handing over the food so you're just stuck. Told a 40 minute wait and it's now been an hour and a half. It would be so easy just to tell me how long it's going to be, and id just turn up then. What am I missing here?
Told us it would be ready in 40 minutes. Turned up 45 minutes after ordering, then had to wait another 45 minutes in the shop. After waiting forever, got home and the food was bang average!
Through fear of you going elsewhere they will tell you 45/50 mins til collection upon order, and then have you wait in your car/waiting room for another hour until it's actually ready, the last 3 orders we've placed on a Saturday have all been 2 hour waits. Apologised profusely the first time it happened, no apologies after or any offer of discount etc. Also they insist on asking you for payment when you arrive then hit you with "it'll be another hour"
Will go elsewhere from now on which is a shame as it's one of the better Chinese takeaways
Take away only. I love the curry sauce and Chefs Special Chow Mein with sauce (contains seafood) is a favourite with my partner. Prices are very reasonable for good food portions. Average time from order to pick up has been 20 minutes and yes chips are lovely too.
Genuinely awful, best part was prawn crackers.
Big portions of truly delicious food and at great prices. Ready on time as well. Would have been a 5 star rating but unfortunately they missed a couple of dishes, we still had plenty of food but it's always nice to get what you've paid for. Online ordering would help with this.
Turned up about 6.15pm on xmas eve for a take out ordered over counter, asked for a refund and got it after we found some people in there had been waiting 1.5hrs for their's! A shame, as a couple of years ago we got one from here and it was alright. Went up the road to another place and had to wait 45mins after being promised 30mins - they must like their Chinese in Downham! U can order, be served and have eaten a three course meal in these times in most sit-down Chinese restaurants elsewhere.
