Being a southern of course I love southern food. On my first trip to Marietta I wanted to try their version of southern cooking. I knew I was at the right place because the local cops were sitting there eating when I walked in. I sat myself at the counter and was immediately greeted and was giving a suggestion of the best thing to try. The meatloaf was the special and it was very good. But of course I was gonna have to have some cake. I tried a few other pies first but they were all sold out. Typically a good sign. The cake was delicious but I am interested in returning and trying the other desserts. I will have to get there earlier! I got there as it was closing but Tonya was there and she spoke to me about my medical condition and was very interested. She was so incredibly kind. I was really touched by her character. I couldn’t say enough good things about her. I love the location. The street and the shops are adorable and well kept. Beautiful and clean city.
FINALLY !!!
I have found a relaxing place to eat in Marietta. The lighting is good. The tables are formica and they are so cool! Employees are very helpful and polite and they don’t rush you. It’s right by the river so you can take a walk after you eat. I ordered hotcakes and bacon and it was perfect. I got some hot tea and she brought me an extra hot tea without me needing to ask. Bring your date bring your mom bring your friend. Bring your kid and come and enjoy Tonya’s country kitchen. You’ll thank me later.

Wife & I came thru Marietta Ohio and done some shopping at the “Cooks Shop”, afterwards we went next door to get some Lunch at “Tonyas Kitchen”.
After entering “Tonyas Kitchen” in Marietta OH., every thing seem to be fine, Atmosphere, Cleanliness and Etc.
We sat down and waited for Staff to bring us a couple menu’s, which that did not take long to get, maybe 3-5minutes.
But, then it took a total of 40minutes for our Food that we ordered to make it to our table, the Server/Waitress apologized for it taking excessive over time for our food to make to our table.
We was not the only ones waiting on food there was other customers there before we arrived that was waiting for there orders a long period of time to, plus some customers complaining outside about the terrible service and wait time.
Yes, they was not at 100% on there game, but, the Food was Delicious and Cooked, Prepared correctly no problems with the Taste of the Food.
Staff just needs to keep watch on time that customers enter doors so that to much time does not pass by before checking on customers, also, may be best, which ever Server/Waitress brings menu’s out to customers is the Server/Waiter that should return to table to take customers order, they should not think that another Server/Waiter will check on customers to take there order.
But other then that every thing else was fine, even tho there was a mess up, we still gave a tip, we all in this world have them type days where our game is off.
I love Tonya's! The staff's always friendly and helpful. The food is consistent and I really enjoy having a home cooked meal I didn't have to cook. I enjoy the cozy feel of the place and that it looks like a step back in time. All day breakfast is something that not only myself enjoys but my son who loves his eggs. If you save room make sure to check out their homemade pies!
I would eat here again. The food was hot, tasted great and portions were huge. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. The server was friendly but I had to explain an Arnold Palmer and still got tea.. She took it back to fix it and just filled it to the top with a splash of lemonade..... Whatever lol.. I just drank it anyway. My husband ordered a double bacon cheeseburger.. It came without bacon. My dad and I each ordered fish tails-he ordered dinner with fish on plate and I ordered sandwich with fries.. She served my dad first and it had sandwich then brought mine out with no bun. She offered to bring a bun but I really didn't want it either so I just swapped dad my side dishes and ate. The dinner rolls are homemade and dad said it was good. They also have baked goods we didn't eat any but they looked good. Serving sizes don't leave room for dessert. Despite the minor errors we would eat here again. I might also mention we were there around 3pm and there was only one waitstaff.
We stopped in around 5 pm. for an early dinner. The service was great, as was the food. The waitress was friendly and diligent. They didn't have an item I requested from the menu, and there was a minor mistake with my wife's salad, but there was nothing that wasn't quickly and easily remedied. We will certainly dine at Tonya's again.
GPS kept wanting to take us to an alley behind the restaurant so we had a hard time finding it at first.
We got there close to closing because of the GPS issue. They didn't give us attitude or act anyway towards us about it.
I had the chicken parm and my only complaint is that it came with meat sauce with a lot of ground beef in it and the mix of the meats was weird.
We came here for breakfast during our weekend at Marietta. It’s in a cute section of town and this place has a good 50’s theme. The service is efficient, not overly friendly. The menu is limited to usual breakfast fare. No fancy pancakes here. ???? prices were good. And the food was also very good.
