We booked a room next door and were hungry for good food. Horchata tasted homemade with cinnamon in it. Food was amazingly good, like homemade. I asked for a Michelada and it was perfect. And the staff were so welcoming. We sat outside where you can view the lake while eating and listening to music music being played. We'll be back.
SCAM ???? ‼️ ALERT ‼️ . OVERCHARGED.‼️We have visited this establishment the second time have been overcharged both times.
The first time I let it go because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. However the second time I was alert.
They provide a hand written bill which is hardly legible because of the handwriting. When you go to cash out. The bill is more than the menu price.
The hand written receipt is not given to the customer only the amount charged to the credit card.
I found FOUR other reviews with the same SCAM….

On behalf of Troop 468 from South Gate, CA. We would like to thank Miguel and his team for their continuing support on feeding us every year when we go and come back from summer camp. The food and service is EXCELLENT. The food is alway on time and warm. The staff always finds room for us with little to no waiting time. The place is clean and has a great view of Lake Gregory. You MUST eat here and try their California Wet Burrito or the must have desert for our troop the Ice Cream Nachos.

A very extensive menu...
On a first visit to any Mexican restaurant, I order a pork tamal, cheese enchilada, and chili relleno with rice and beans.
I want to get a taste of the general basics. Their #51 combination plate was just that.
To start, I actually liked the rice. That's rare for me. The beans were very average. The enchilada was rather tasteless. The tamal, equally so. The Relleno, on the other hand, was very good.
I read somewhere, I believe on this site, that their margaritas were wine based. It's not my cup of tea, so I didn't order one. Instead, I ordered a Modelo. It was cold and refreshing. Then, I found out that they did, indeed, have tequila margaritas, and I ordered a "Pamarita". That's a margarita with an additional shot of pomegranate liquor - very, very good!!
Service; It was dinner time on a Friday night and moderately busy. I was a single diner, with my dog, on their outdoor patio. It seemed like an eternity to even be acknowledged. Once the server arrived, she was pleasant and helpful. Although, in the course of the meal, she was rather non-existent. I even had to flag her down to get the check.
Atmosphere was typical Mexican decor, quaint, but appropriate.
"Live" music on the patio. It was a bit quirky, but nevertheless, somewhat entertaining.
Because of the size of my combination plate, the beer and large margarita, my bill was $55, including a 20% gratuity.
(I felt generous in spite of the mediocre service)

The best Mexican food in town! Skip the rest and go eat the best. We ordered to go tonight and it was so delicious. The staff is so nice. Didn't see it tonight but the view of the lake is one of a kind. Every time we go we never regret it. We actually live closer to another Mexican restaurant and drove past it to come to Toni's! Keep up the delicious meals and excellent customer service!
I ordered a michelada it was very yummy and well served. I was very disappointed when the food came. I thought it would be authentic Mexican food. In reality it was store bought chips with flavorless salsa. My boyfriend ordered the asada nachos with no pico… and to his surprise also came with no cilantro and no guacamole. I ordered chilaquiles divorciados and it had little drops of green sauce and one tiny spec of red sauce underneath all of it … and the arachera was dry and looked like taco meat instead of a steak cut. The place also doesn’t look clean, it looks like they painted over the dust.
Went to breakfast Saturday and told to sit anywhere we'd like. ( There was not one customer there but us) Sat down at a regular sized table and immediately told by the waitress that this table is reserved for larger groups. (4 chairs is hardly large) Sat at the mini table and not one single soul came in to eat until we were leaving. Mind you.,there are over 25+tables in the place with not one single person there. Not sure if I would call it stupid or ignorant. Overpriced and very poor service. Bad combo. Used to like visiting this place. Not anymore.
One Star, The food is really bad, The burrito is big, look good, but don’t get fooled by it, The rice was undercooked, no flavor as well. The Two salsa verde sopes($14.00) they gave me was very poor served,except for the lettuce they put plenty, the Fajita Trio($25.00) for two was awful, no flavor, meat hard. If u want a good Mexican food place to go this is not the one, Avoid it. Was our first time and our last.
