Gave this place another try after two years. Figured they would improve or new ownership and make everything better. But to my disappointment did not change anything. Besides, the employee morale can tell the employees really care about being there, but the owners don’t care about the food quality. Attached my old review so that there is a comparison, and not much has changed think it got worse. Which is upsetting, because 2020 the food was so addicting would have it once or twice a day while attending college.
GF friendly, great service delicious flavorful food. I really enjoyed my burrito bowl with spanish rice, pinto beans and carnitas.
The atmosphere was okay. Toppings weren't fresh. For as much as the heating equipments felt hot but my food colder than my soda. Taco bell and chipotle is 100% better. Save your money and your appetite.
Tomatillo is one of those places I’ve been driving past for years on trips to New Haven and always wondered what it was like! I needed something quick but not too filling to eat before an event, so my fiancé and I stopped here. It wasn’t anything too crazy, but it served what we were looking for in the moment. The salsas were pretty yummy! The rice and steak were just okay, I think they could’ve used more flavor.
First time ordering from this place and we were unimpressed. The burritos lacked flavor and had little steak. Could not taste the cilantro or lime in the cilantro lime rice. The guacamole was actually very tasty until we found a piece of the skin (with sticker) in it. We paid over $6 for the guacamole and chips and there were barely enough chips for one person. Plenty of other great taco places in New Haven. Skip this place.
Ordered for lunch via Uber eats. I like that you can create your own tacos, burritos, bowls etc. Very simple and small menu that’s easy to follow. Pretty standard tasting tacos. Good value for your money.
Fish tacos came with a generous portion of deep fried fish, however I found the taco was fairly dry. I think it might be because of the beans? But it would have been better if they had put more salsa
I travel back to New Haven for this spot every year!! Burritos are on point . Very cozy and don't forget to try the taco salad! ????
Delicious and authentic. Best tacos I have had in a long time. Buffalo chicken nachos were excellent.
