We went in on a Saturday afternoon around 2, with 12 people. It didn't take long to seat us. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We had the poutine and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The poutine was just as good as any we have had in Toronto. My husband really enjoyed his salad . The New York Steamer sub was really good, and so was the 9in Chicago style pizza. The portions were huge. We took quite a bit home for leftovers. We will definitely be back.
This restaurant is amazing!! The menu selection is huge as well as the portions!! When I say huge portions, I mean HUGE!! Plenty of indoor seating and side patio are available. It's a little dark inside for my preference, but i can overlook that for the quantity of food and price. They do not take reservations and are busy all the time, so it is best to arrive early if you can. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Enjoy and come hungry!!????
Always a great experience! The food is delicious and the proportions are huge!
Would give this place 10 stars if I could! A Diamond in Greenville that everyone should know about. There's like 8 pages of different food choices in their menu-2 FULL pages of just appetizers. This place was one of the best places I've ever eaten, and the prices started below $10. The street tacos were phenomenal. The Baked Ziti with homemade meatballs was excellent as well. 2 meals, a fishbowl draft beer, and a top shelf margarita with a shot on the side came to a total of $52. That's pretty great considering the size of the portions and the items being homemade and full of flavor. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service was because when I asked for a side shot of tequila, I was given a shot of vodka instead. The margarita was not the best one ever had BUT the atmosphere and extensive menu options (and prices) will have us going back much more. Check this place out! You won't be disappointed ????
I'm not from the area and this was my first time at Tolly's. We had both had a hard day but this experience brightened our evening. I will definitely be returning. This is probably the best restaurant experience I've had all year.
Food- There are a lot of options on the menu and some that aren't available elsewhere. I was so impressed with the quality of ingredients here. We both ordered the special a 12oz strip steak. I got a baked potato and side salad and my partner got a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. We also ordered the clam strips dinner as an app. Everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, and a better quality of meat than at most restaurants. They smothered it with sauteed onions for free and used a dollop of garlic butter. The potato was tender and the salad used romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. The croutons were homemade and crunchy instead of the rock hard ones most places serve. The clams were fried and actually tasted like clams. They have the most amazing fresh cut fries. Oh and you got a few onion rings with your steak. They were sweet and battered with something that reminded me of the fair. They serve Coca Cola products and the iced tea was perfectly brewed. I didn't get a cocktail this time but I look forward to it.
Service- I was hesitant at first because no one greeted us for a few minutes. But it was very busy and we arrived at a peak time. Our server was friendly, polite and attentive without being intrusive. No one tried to pressure us into ordering something specific. No one acted weird that we didn't order alcohol. The staff was genuine and that made me feel comfortable being there.
Atmosphere- It's definitely got a pub feel. They have darker floors and furniture and neon lights. But they also had large windows. There were a lot of TV's. Everything was comfortable and well maintained. It was also much cleaner than what has become normal. They have a patio option which I may try next time. The temperature of the inside was perfect. Most places set it to freezing but this was comfortable. They had these cute stainless steel trays as some of the tableware. It fit the decor and probably helped them economize. Whoever runs or owns this place knows what areas to put profit back into the business. They also had these large ale glasses in a different shape than I'd seen.
I'm so glad I visited here. This restaurant really reminded me of back when there were more high quality local restaurants in Ohio. Most of the amazing places have disappeared due to increasing costs, chain restaurants, or lack of succession planning. If you're considering Tolly's, I highly suggest it. It's money well spent and that's a rarity.
We had a little bit of a wait, but it was WELL worth it!! Soooooo many options it was hard to choose! 2 appetizers, 4 different entrées, and 2 deserts and they were all wonderful!! Highly recommend you give it a try! We will definitely be back!
They have the best Brussel Sprouts I've ever had! Half price appetizers between 2pm and 5pm. Thursdays special, they have a $14 steak dinner, pair that with 1/2 price appetizers and bring the whole family! Food is great and the portions are all big enough to share.
When you first sit down you are met with a 6 page menu with lots of options. I highly recommend the Bronx bomber! It was an overloaded corn beef sub that was like a cross between permanti bros and a Frisco melt. Server was really friendly and patient. Drinks were ice cold and the draft beer comes in fish bowls. Great atmosphere.
