It’s a nice restaurant with beautiful old charm. However the food was not that great, very heavy not a lot of creativity. We ordered fish and chips, and grilled salmon. For dessert we tried 3 of their cakes which were extremely sweet.
Home cooking done well. Excellent. Great menu with all my fav's. The Chicken Fried Steak dinner was perfect, awesome gravy and skin-in mashed potatoes. The Southwest Salad (?) was also perfect, with a not-too-spicy chipotle dressing. I will be back. Your recipes really hit the spot, and good size portions, two meals for me really.
5 stars experience. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the cozy holiday atmosphere there. Also,the server was very attentive. Tollgate is awesome overall,their prices haven't skyrocketed unlike other restaurants'.
Good experience! Good service! And good atmosphere! The only thing i have to say is they need a lil more seasoning on their food for us and were golden ????????????
We stopped here after a long travel (flight delay) day from Chicago to Oregon. Everyone was hungry and super excited to finally be in Oregon. The comfort food was great and really hit the spot. The Mac n cheese with smoked pulled pork was hands down the best plate at our table. I even liked it and I’m not a Mac n cheese type.
I had the Apple and roasted beet salad which was very good. The portion was a good size.
Our waitress Kelly was very nice and attentive. She said she liked “our energy”. Others might have said “your teens are annoyingly energetic.” Kelly was patient and kind.
We also tried several of the lemonade options. The raspberry was our favorite.

Food was really good, got mainly breakfast items and we liked each one. The atmosphere was very old timing and the kids really enjoyed it. The service was the only thing lacking, I got served the wrong item and it wasn't corrected or taken off the bill. I ended up paying for something that I didn't want.
Went back for dinner and it was not that great. Stick to breakfast time imo
The server was excellent, as there were 12 of us!!
But the food was tired and seemed like typical American fare. All came hot to the table, but nothing stood out as spectacular. The pot roast and mashed potatoes seemed covered in packaged, gloppy gravy—hopefully, it was pot roast! The six skinny asparagus spears were the highlight for me. Everyone in our party said it was just average fare. It was a one and only visit for me.
Places like this restaurant shouldn't rely on past achievements but should strive to stay true to their roots. I noticed and tasted many prepackaged or frozen items.
Food cold sent back and then the cook redropped my fried food came back burned and rubbery I know it was mine because I cut a little piece out... my baked potato wasn't cooked either so sad. Not the 1st time. I Use to go about 3 times a week now this was the 1st time I have been there in almost a year. So sad nothing changes ????
