Lemongrass chicken vermicelli (bun ga xa) was flavorful with sweet fish sauce.
Turmeric catfish (cha ca la vong) was ok, not a lot of fish. It normally comes with fermented shrimp paste, which I believe is smelly so I ordered it with fish sauce instead.
Delicious food without the inconvenience of a long wait. They were pretty busy today, but we got our food quickly. The portion sizes were great and the food was delicious. I suggest you order ahead, because there is no indoor dining. They did have 2 chairs in the waiting area. Great experience with the staff. I definitely recommend you try this! ????????
Finally found a lunch place that actually has good food! I had the chicken bahn mi and it was delicious. Very generous portion of perfectly spiced chicken, crunchy pickles, and (most importantly) a nice crusty baguette.
Edit a couple of weeks later: Okay I don’t know why anyone would get lunch anywhere else. I just had the tofu noodle bowl and it’s amazing. It’s so fresh and delicious that I had to update my review as I eat it. The tofu is golden and flavourful, the veggies and pickles add crunch, the noodles are fresh, the sauce ties everything together. Ugh it’s so good. What have I done to deserve this as a casual lunch meal?
Delicious Grilled lemongrass pork bahn mi. Got there just before they opened for lunch. First one to order and it took a few minutes since they grilled my pork upon ordering. Rough cut pickled veggies. Fresh, soft French roll bun. I will return to try a noodle bowl or rice wrap.
The best Vietnamese restaurant I know in San Francisco (I don’t know a whole lot lol)???? Today is my first time trying it. Our office all ordered “Bun” from here today. Everything tastes fresh! I don’t feel thirsty after eating it, so, not too much MSG! The sauce is not too salty, the Thai teas are not too sweet, everything tastes just Right!!! I never went in to this place because the interior and exterior design of this restaurant looks suspicious, but they proof me wrong! ????❤️❤️ Thanks for the good food and keep up the good work!
It’s newly opened with a small and clean space and layout. I got the beef rice plate and the beef was super tasty. The rice is super soft and the pickled veggies were a good palette cleanser. All in all, very tasty meal within the FiDi, will be coming and trying some other things as well next time!
No wonder this spot has 5 stars! If you're in the neighborhood and are looking for a perfect lunch spot, look no further. Their food is both healthy and incredibly tasty, their staff super attentive and will always make sure to help you when needed. Rheir 5 spice chicken is amazing - but then again, everything else is!
It’s a walk-up and made-to-order place. So nothing much inside to look at. But I had to write a review; I haven’t been this impressed with flavor is so long!!! I got it a few weeks back and I was hungry. I remember thinking, this chicken is crazy flavorful and there is so much! So today I stopped back in to see if it’s going to be that good again. Lemongrass chicken falls apart with tenderness and the flavor is so on point. And the chili paste is the real deal. I’m just stoked to find a new Vietnamese place. Both times I couldn’t stop eating and if I’d had self control, there would have been enough for two meals. I can’t wait to try more things.
Also, wait time is short. Dude at the counter is cool and kind. Very efficient.
