We had never eaten there. As you walk in there were some tablets and no cashier. The ladies behind the register saw us standing in line and didn’t bother to tend to us for 10 minutes. She then explained that they do not have cashiers and that you order on the tablet. That would have been helpful to know. The food and drinks were delicious I wish they had one in my town. The service was not good but I think once you know how to order and that the “waitresses” are motivated there to assist then you will be ok. We did not wait long for the food. The drinks with some sort of bubbles were exceptional!!
This is probably the worst takeout i have ever received from a restaurant. This food is old, the chicken was incredibly rubbery and pale and i’m not sure if it’s water or sauce under the stale rice, but my boyfriend took a bite and immediately got acid reflux. it also smells rancid. i will not be reordering from tin drum, especially after having to trash both of these meals.
I have frequented this location at least two times in the past six months. I like the friendly employees and the quality of the food. I got sesame chicken and a matcha boba tea. Everything tasted really good. This location is always super clean and the wait is never long. I think I may have waited ten minutes for my order to be prepared. They have a rewards program that I signed up for and I like how easy it is to earn rewards. You can place orders online here, at the counter with an employee, or using a tablet at the counter inside. They also offer free water at the counter if you need it. I paid a little over $16.00 for my food and drink. That’s definitely comparable to the area. Parking at this location is non-existent. You can park in front, but it’s like playing roulette. There are many no parking signs posted, so park and run inside at your own risk.
If your favorite song is Kill Bill by SZA, you need to visit Tin Drum. They play it every time I come here without fail LOL. I think their restaurant playlist has 20 songs max????. I come to Tin Drum pretty often though and I love it! It’s my favorite restaurant within Tech Square. Their ramen eggs are kind of inconsistent, but apart from that, the food is good! My favorite boba here is the brown sugar pearl milk with blueberry poppers (I do this with less sugar & almond milk and it’s so yummy) and I really like the China Town Lo Mein with tofu. The picture in this review is the Bangin Miso Ramen- also really good!
Very Good food... There service was fast and very friendly..The atmosphere was like a Starbucks...Look at the picture of the food I had...Need I say more.. The menu is cost friendly so go treat yourself to some good food in a pleasant environment..
I have been going to Tin Drum for years but this was my 1st time at the Ga Tech location. And never have I been given a chicken lettuce wrap that looked like or was made like this one (Buckhead & briarcliff is where I normally go). When I brought it to the managers attention she said, all locations prepare items differently. That confused me because I thought this was a franchise & that the business model idea behind a franchise is pretty “cooker cutter” which guarantees the quality level of the dishes. Since each location is supposed to be prepared the exact same… I guess 5th St just does their own thing.
We just got back from our Tin Drum trip, and we did pick up. The service was really nice, but they really messed up our order. First off, we ordered two Boba drinks. I asked for no boba/bubbles, however, they put tapioca Boba in my drink. They also didn’t fill up the cup, see picture attached. The lady who fixed the tapioca boba was so sweet though so we weren’t that upset. We got home and realized that they did not include the sauce that you were supposed to get for the crab and cheese roll. We also realized that they added onion in my coconut soup even though I said no onions because I’m allergic. The noodles were cut on the chicken lo mein, but we didn’t specify that we wanted long noodles, so it’s not that big of a deal. Overall, the service was great and the food tasted good, but the accuracy of our order was sub-par.
My favorite restaurant since I moved to Atlanta. The stir fries are amazing, I particularly like the sesame grilled chicken. The wings are also fantastic. The one thing I’d recommend is improving the mobile ordering experience - it is very difficult to tell when your food is ready when you ordered on the app. They don’t call out the names for mobile orders like they do for in store so I often find I need to check in on whether my food is ready which is challenging when they’re busy. The people in the restaurant are very nice and there is good service overall.
