Best KPortal Reviews

In the downtown Clearwater area for a Dr visit, this place looked interesting, had great ratings and was nearby. Plus our Dr was between breakfast and lunch so a brunch spot was perfect. Found Tin Can easily, parking a bit tight but ok.
This a small homey diner and obviously very popular with locals. They were very busy at early lunch but we lucked into the only open table for two. We were brought menus and waters right away. My wife chose the Waffle with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream and chocolate. I decided on the Spanish Omelette with beef, onions, jalapeños and cheese.
It was a bit for our food but understanding with the number of diners present. When our food arrived, the plates were huge. Mine came first and my wife wanted to share, so I cut off a section and put on my toast plate for her. It also came with salsa and sour cream, that the waitress forgot. After a couple reminders, I asked another server and he brought salsa, but I never got the sour cream. By now it was cooling off so I ate my 3/4 portion. And my wife shared 1/4 of her amazing Waffle.
Both meals were excellent and huge portions. I guess because with locals they do tend to chat with the waitstaff. Not a huge problem but I suggest late breakfast or lunch to avoid the crowds.
Pleasant conversation with perfect strangers dedicated to the Tin Can sprinkles all your delicious food if you are willing. A Mecca of of socialization run by Lora and Luis educated hardworking Transplants from Puebla Mexico. Food is American and straight up like the flag red white and blue. Prices are best in town and that my fellow American is why you will find the best Tradesman to executives enjoying the cuisine here at the Tin Can.
The place gets good hype from word of mouth. And has great ratings from places like Trip Advisor. But personally? I am not impressed. The food really wasn't as good as hearing.
Not to mention that they will cheat you. The meal was supposed to be for 2eggs 2biscuits and 3links. I got the 2eggs. But only got 1.5biscuits and 2links.
When I asked, I was told that their menu is changing. And they simply haven't got the new ones printed yet. I find this to be unacceptable.
Great breakfast spot. You can never go wrong with the ribs, or the tin can scramble. Now open for dinner. Plenty of parking. Good service & great prices.

Stopped by for lunch and overall experience was great for both food and service.
The face out sandwich was delicious and fries crispy.
The chicken walnut salad was pretty fresh.
The cuban was pretty good.
The crapes was okay
The shrimp and grits was a bit too salty but pretty good.
Our server, Faith, was very attentive and helpful
Four stars because of the crapes and shrimp and grits. But I’d eat here again!
I love finding new mom & pop places to eat. This is my favorite kind of breakfast place - a tidy hole in the wall, off the beaten path. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious and not overpriced. Lots of menu options plus specials posted on boards.
Great breakfast joint! Good food, good prices, friendly people and quick service. Try it for yourself...just be prepared for solid normal things and you will be happy.
