Best KPortal Reviews

This place used to be the pinnacle of Indian in Philadelphia. IT IS NOW THE WORST. We bought two portions of the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. It was shocking! There is almost no meat. The meat that is there is made of thick cubes that are way overcooked and so incredibly dry in your mouth it aches to chew. Now let’s talk about the most important part: THE SAUCE: It’s like canned tomato sauce with the lightest smattering of bland, generic heat. It tastes like canned Indian simmering sauce you get from Aldi’s! It doesn’t contain any of the unique and defining Indian spices like turmeric, green cardamom, coriander, garam Marsala, garlic, fenugreek, star anise, mace, cloves or curry leaves! It’s dreadful and extremely disappointing. Using a discount code we payed $18 for it and it it isn’t worth it at that price. Without the code it would have been an assaulting $55!!!!! They have absolutely no passion and it’s clear they have defaulted to using the cheapest, drabbest ingredients and have lost their passion and spark. NEVER COMING BACK!
Atmosphere was 4/5 only for the strip mall approach. I love sitting outside and even though it was lovely weather and I was able to be outside, having the cars drive back and forth with the pedestrian traffic was the downside. The food was incredible. I had the butter chicken which was a little too heavy on the cinnamon. Typically I like mine a little spicy or just savory but this one had a more sweet kick. It wasn’t bad by any means, I just wish it had less cinnamon. The cheese naan was honestly the best part - so delicious. The starter sauces we’re tangy, sweet and carried some heat. Great beginning. Rice was fluffy and there was a larger enough portion to take it home. Great experience overall.
Third class food. Ordered Chicken tikka masala they bring out butter chicken and claims it’s chicken tikka masala. The taste is just butter chicken. I have attached a picture. The guy claims from Nepal and doesn’t have any idea of food. No people was in resturent while I was there.
I took my family out for a meal on my wife's birthday to this Indian restaurant. The food was amazing and excellent especially Biryani, Tandoori chicken and Boti Kebab. Something to try if you want an authentic Indian taste.
The service I received was second to none and staff were really, really polite and helpful.
We ended up taking a takeway as well.
Something worth trying!!!
If you're reading this because you're considering eating here, do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. I ignored the 1 star reviews and I regret it. Taking naive non-Indian folks for a ride selling food that sounds and looks exotic and calling it Indian is a cruel joke (I'm Indian, I know). Anything orange colored with cream and sugar does not make it makhani or tikka masala, a brown sauce does not make it chettinad or korma or curry. People at this joint don't even know what a tandoor is, and selling food calling it tandoori is deception. I can safely say that this was the worst Indian food I've had in this country (and I have a large sample size). But it's not even that the food is just cooked bad, it is far removed from what the dish should be. I feel so bad that people who may not know what real Indian food tastes like, be it South Indian or North Indian food, would leave this place with an impression of the so-called Indian cuisine they sell and assume that's that. How can a restaurant selling such bad food have so many branches? Folks, take your business and wallet elsewhere, to establishments that are not there to deceive you. Shame on you Tiffin. Shutter this place and go sell something else. Oh, and I want my money back.
This place is wonderful and roommate ordered. The chicken was delicious but it was a little too dry. They didnt really tell roommate what the sauces were or about what she was getting. It was takeout.. I had to step outside for a call. Rice was fluffy and light. Overall i will eat their food again. ????
The chicken was too hard with no seasoning. The naan was alright. I'll never come back to this or any Tiffin restaurants. This was the worst Indian food I've ever eaten in my entire life.
After ordering from here for years, we thought the quality went down so switched to a different Indian restaurant. We since tried to give Tiffin one more go, and it was worse than ever. Prices seem higher and the food was watery/soupy.
