They took a cover charge and when we went in it was dead, walked up to the bar, stood for a full 5 minutes while the bartender stood there doing nothing. We left and asked to get our money back as we weren't even served. The guy at the door didn't care and said no refunds, that's cool, here's your $30 one star review.

This place has been my "go-to" when I first started exploring KC as I first moved to Kansas City, that was in 2019. It is now 2022, I do not have to constantly go there for the staff to recognize me, they will listen to you when it comes to ordering drinks, music requests, and my favorite NYE moment was at Throwback. Don't come early, don't come late! The best time to enjoy this place is 10pm-1am in my opinion. The staff does not throw you out, they make sure you have somewhere to go even though that should never be a concern for yourself. Go there if you'd like to have a fun, accepting, cool, and nonjudgemental environment in your corner!

Shooters were fun? Staff was nice! Just didn’t know any music. It’s not really a throw back. It’s kinda hipster? Or as my boyfriend said “new school?,” he wanted to leave ASAP! Everything else was perfect though! Wonderful staff! Cool setup. Fun lights! Cheap drinks! Karaoke is really fun to watch! It’s just this place is called throw back so if it weren’t for the music I’d rate it higher. We paid a cover fee on a Wednesday so in the very least I just wish the music could’ve been better we won’t be back any time soon :,) because we are from out of town haha. I would give higher if music was better because it is actually pretty cool looking!!

This place has so many reviews about how they put their hands on ppl. It’s true.

Do not risk coming here. I have seen them pick up grown men and throw literally THROWN them on the ground outside.

I told a bouncer to leave me alone and he wouldn’t so I told him to BACK OFF and he took it as some threat or something and tried grabbing me. I told him to stop and I will leave. Then he kept trying to grab me. No I wasn’t drunk and I had just got there. He left multiple bruises on my arm and the police said there wasn’t anything they could do. This place is disgusting and they hire disgusting disrespectful people. Please stop coming here!

Do not go here if you want music older than 2020 we went waited almost 2 hours and they played stuff I have never heard before.... literally wasted our night I’m so bummed sweet bartenders sweet staff. But I did not know a single song! They don’t even take requests here!

Everyone there kept leaving and coming back. People would try to dance but they weren’t playing anything you could dance to. Lots of bars with good music around town! Cool setup terrible music. Music is from 2020 maybe their personal mix? I have never heard a single song in my entire life. Seriously I would’ve been happy with 2000-2010. It’s called throw back but this ain’t it.

0 out of 10. They took forever to bring the TWO bottles I paid for. When I asked for a song request security said it was $100 per request ???????????????? unprofessional not worth the $$$. 0 out of 10. First and last time I go there.

I witnessed the security assault someone here for literally no reason at all and when I tried to help the poor guy off the ground and ask why they were hurting him they kicked the both of us out. Also had some friends that got kicked out of their VIP booth after paying for it! Terribly mixed drinks for 10$. Literally the same as the door fee. Violently aggressive security. Don’t come here unless you have a camera to record the possible harm their security might incur to you.

If I can give zero stars I would. My party spent $800 for a booth and bottle. We was kicked out of our booth because we didn’t buy another bottle. Never in my life have I paid for a booth and got kicked out. They called all of security and caused a huge scene when we refused to give up our booth. Mind you we spent $800 at this establishment. The security was super rude and put there hands on the women and men and kicked us out. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB! So unprofessional and no one informed us that we have to have active bottles when we originally reserved. They are money hungry and will kick you out if you aren’t buying. Avoid this establishment at all cost! My uncle is the mayor of Kansas City and he will definitely hear about this!!!
