All the food was delicious and I have been to the beach many times but never stopped here!!! We enjoyed it and even met the owner Joe!! It takes a lot to wow me saying I am a general manager of a restaurant for 18 years.
Ordered medium well steak and it looked rare. Sent back and this is what I got. This was more raw looking than the first. Looks like it was just seared on outside; no where near medium well. Waitress said it was medium well even though I expressed that it was not. Asked for carry out box for others and after 10 minutes of waiting I went to kitchen area to ask for box. No apologies from waitress or cook. Cook should have bought out second order. Don’t know if I will ever go back to this restaurant in South Mrytle Beach SC
Nice atmosphere, and usually I like visiting, but this time was unfortunately quite disappointing. The service was poor, and my mother-in-law's steak was underdone, and she didn't even get her re-made steak before everyone else was finished eating! It is a friendly atmosphere however, and I like the addition of games like pinball and such. Hopefully next time will be better.
We come every year for our birthday. We stumbled across this gem be accident and it’s been one of my favorites ever since. I get the chicken bites and tri fries every time. The honey mustard is delicious. Service is always amazing! I love looking around at all of the decorations they have.
Overall was the best place we ate at in our 4 day stay in Myrtle Beach. Awesome eclectic decor. Husband had the bacon cheeseburger. I had the seafood combo, could have been more shrimp, although i prefer non-breaded options, the flounder was fantastic. It was within walking distance of our hotel. The place even had a balloon artist going table to table for children.
Great place. Service, food, and atmosphere all top notch. The pimento cheese burger was especially good.
I always have to chuckle when nearly all the bad reviews for a place include a description or even a photo of a perfectly prepared steak. Do yourself a favor, if you want a burnt steak, stay home and burn it yourself. Professional grills are not set up to slow cook it to the texture of shoe leather. Steaks are meant to be seared on the outside to seal in the flavor and natural juices. It's called red meat, not brown.
I had the prime rib sandwich. My husband had the sirloin & bbq chicken combo. We started with the potato skins. Everything was absolutely delicious! Generous portions & cooked perfectly. Great service and atmosphere as well!
We came here while in town on vacation twice in one week. Jared’s service was ABSOLUTELY phenomenal. He’s very attentive and personable. His service alone left us wanting to come back. We can see why people come in and ask for him to be their server. Will come back to Thorny’s for that delicious Hawaiian steak any time.
