The service was friendly and quick, we were greeted right when we walked in a offered coffee. We both ordered and enjoyed a booth by the window. It was early on a Sunday morning, and by the time we left the place was pretty busy. My French toast and eggs were good and my partner loved his skillet. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. This place is definitely a neighborhood favorite.
The food was delicious, I had the t bone steak which was cooked medium as I request it, the grits were creamy and the biscuit was soooo good, as well as their cream of chicken noodle soup. I also tasted the salmon croquettes which were amazing. However the atmosphere, well the place is n older restaurant that has not been updated and is ok, but the lady at the counter was super rude, kept making disrespectful comments which we ignored because we were there to eat. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive, although the comments on how much food we ordered were uncalled for. I know I’m fat and I’m here to eat, not to be judged! So if you do get food from here, I would suggest order to go.
Don’t expect much as far as appearances in here but the food was quick and hot. Salmon croquettes were tasty. They had like a hush puppy batter situation going on. The pancakes are big, fluffy, and above average. Staff was polite. Definitely a reliable local breakfast spot w absolutely no frills!
I hadn't been here for some time. Service is much better and the food was excellent.
This was my first time eating here. The food was good and fresh. The customer service was excellent. It is a really busy place so be prepared to wait. But overall I will return.
I like this restaurant, my favorite neighborhood place for breakfast in Chicago. Like going to moms house. They used to have all booths since covid they changed to tables, which took away some of the welcoming feelings. But I like it just the same. Great breakfast home fries and biscuit.
I been a regular at Thomas restaurant for a few years. I always order the steak skillet. Unfortunately today my skillet was not pleasurable. The hashbrowns was mushy the steak was chopped up like ground beef and my country styles eggs was scrambled hard. If I had the time and energy to take it back I would. It looks more like corned beef hash than a steak skillet
Thomas food is very good especially the bacon and turkey club I also love their breakfast, I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed I just wish they stayed open longer!
