If you are black DO NOT order grits from here. I repeat if you are black DO Not ORDER GRITS… If and ONLY if you like your grits to be gritty not milky or watery do not get the grits from here also they tasted so old. Like cardboard box. Yams was hard and not cooked down. Definitely maybe out the can or just not cooked long enough. The FISH THO …..SLAAAAAPPP,.. seasoned perfectly. Finger licking good as you can see there is no pic because I complained about the grits and yams the whole time I was eating them ????????????????
The shrimp and grits were really good, the grits was smooth and buttered, the shrimp was my favorite it was crispy and flavored. I had the marc & cheese it wasn't to my liking but it wasn't nasty. The service was good and the wait wasn't long. And even though I didn't get much it felt a little over priced for what I got in retuned (food wise).
This was my first time trying Thelmas. I got the catfish and chips meal for 11$ .
It came with freshly fried fish and chips, I love how the gentleman who was working there made everything fresh to order.
The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the fish was nice and tasty.
All that being said, I am going to try the other menu items over time. I recommend giving them a try. A+
$15 all cat fish plate is literally 2 piece of cat fish cut in to 6 nuggets. NOT SIX PIECES OF ACTUAL CAT FISH FILETS. and most of them were just fried skins filled with air and grease . The sides are HELLA small for $6. **see picture below** one star is because the homemade sauces are tasty and the chicken is tasty and shoot the sides are tasty too. BUT really Thelma shame on you. Stop scamming your community. Make an actual all 6 piece of full filet catfish plate for $15 or a $15 plate with 0ne piece cat fish & two sides. Why are y'all hustling your own? saddly I'm NEVER buying from here again based off of that lie the man who works there told me.
I got shrimp an grits ! Both was good! It's the service that's needs help! The guy was all all alone taking orders an making the food an being cashier! Signs says open at 11 placed my order by phone ! Get there 12 15! He was just starting to prep tge food an getting tge grease hot so I had to wait another 20min! We just have to do better ! I will back to see if service changes
If you want fried fish this is where I suggest you visit. The folks that run this spot are super nice and the food matches their vibe. They are open late on Saturday but closed Sunday. The fish is crispy and NEVER bathed in oil. It's not overly seasoned either which is fine.????????
My first time ordering from here and it was actually really delicious. My partner LOVED the taste of the collard greens, it tasted like it came right from the pot. The only thing I’d wish is for the grits to some in a bigger container. After I was done I was left wanting even more????. However I’ll definitely be ordering today for the Banana pudding I saw
The food at this place is absolutely delicious. So glad I stumbled across it on Postmates. Everything my husband and I ordered was delicious. Seasoned to perfection. We will be trying everything on the menu. ???? And the prices are great ???? what more can you ask for!
