Really friendly proper pub. All the staff were full of welcoming smiles. Made us (a family of 5) feel right at home. Made the dog comfortable and wish we had found this place sooner. Decent selection of beers
Avoid!!! The place is a dive. Filthy pub. Room was dated and door wouldn't lock. Bedding & towels old. Curtains dropping down. Chaotic and disorganised staff. Only positive was the breakfast, once the dusty table was cleaned to eat off. Manager encouraged us to have evening meal at their Indian restaurant next door - lamb dish full of gristle which was inedible.
Avoid at all costs.... Dirty tables.. dirty toilets.... Floors haven't been hoovered in over a week...Bar staff more interested in talking to staff then customers... Place needs a whole revamp cleaning wise. Has gone downhill big time... Avoid this place at all costs.
I don't class myself as too fussy but this place fell below my expectations, the noise levels were extremely bad even for a pub, the continental breakfast was non existent and the room was never serviced, I will never return, on the positive side the room was clean and a good size.
Amazing. The owners and staff are fantastic rooms are lovely. Location is perfect 10/10.
My husband and I booked the restaurant to celebrate our 50 years together anniversary on Saturday, 25th March with our immediate family that now totals 17. We had an amazing memorable celebration. I had taken in tablecloths and serviettes in white and gold and a rough outline of how I wanted the set up to look and everything was exactly as I asked for. The food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff were so welcoming and obliging and nothing was too much trouble for them. I cannot praise them enough. We have such happy memories of a very special occasion….thank you to all staff and the chef for making our celebration so special!
Now under new management. Should change it back to a pub only instead of offering dining because it really is a pub/pub.
Went for a meal, young waitress was taking our order and went to the kitchen to ask a question (my wife is vegetarian) and didn't return, we next saw her chatting to pub customers. When I approached her and asked if we could finish having our order taken she went to take an order for large group who arrived after us. We were ignored for several more minutes and so paid for our drinks and left. Two ladies behind the bar appeared uninterested in ensuring customers were being looked after. |Fortunately found a good pub, Kings head, around the corner, very welcoming, good service and had a lovely meal. I would suggest avoid The White Horse
