Decent food, freshly cooked, with friendly service. But quite pricey and no options except chips for gluten free. They'd also sold out of quite a few things by the time we ordered at 6pm. If you're eating in, be aware that they close the seating area soon after 6pm. Take-away stays open longer.
I enjoyed it two days in a row lol.. Thanks to a locals recommendation. Haddock and cod both was delicious not forgetting the fishcake and chips was amazing. Must try.. Will definitely visit in the future when in Sidmouth.
Absolutely delicious! Freshly cooked fish and chips, a lovely traditional fish and chips shop, so rare to find these days!
Great food nice atmosphere, a bit expensive for my liking ,but in Devon it's about the average price £36 for 2 adult fish n chips and children nuggets and chips and 3 cans
Not the usual standards from these guys and always come here for the best fish and chips in Sidmouth.
Not the usual staff either so a total staff change or new ownership.
The chips tasted like they were either over cooked or cooked twice, the vegi burger was burnt and the mushy peas was served with a crusty skin on it.
Will give it the benefit of the doubt and try a second time if it's just a one off as it'll be a shame to not come here any more and have never had a bad meal.
We like this place and have popped in a couple of times for something to eat,the food is cooked fresh to order and as always been very enjoyable. There is a very good selection of meals to choose from and plenty of seating. It is also at a reasonable price.....I can highly recommend this place if you’re feeling a bit peckish.
A lovely looking fish & chip cafe with a take away where you order what you want at the till once you have found yourself a seat, then somebody brings your meal over to you once it's ready.
I decided to eat here today whilst on holiday in this stunning area, but i have to say despite the food I could see coming out of the kitchen, my meal was tiny, completely overcooked & extremely disappointing, the OAP meals looked such good value for the price I saw advertised, but the other couple of people eating there must of been having the cod & not haddock like I chose as there's looked thick & golden, not skinny & burnt like mine, plus the chips were cut so tiny & were just tasteless bits, the chef actually walked off for a chat leaving my haddock in the fryer leaving the poor till girl to take it upon herself to dish it up, I left there both starving & disappointed for the price I paid, even the drink was tiny, weak & very tepid.
Excellent fish and chips. Cooked to order. Fish batter is perfection and not thick stogy undercooked like most chip shops. With a nice cuppa. Just need some music on.
