The White Hart Hotel||||Spilsby||||Private Party prior to full public reopening||||948775375||||Dan and James have taken on The White Hart Hotel , have already carried out an awful lot of work on these fantastic old [ dating from 1600] coaching Inn which back in the day had stabling for over 60 horses .. we visited on a pre big public opening for a family and friends private party , the events room is a fantastic size and has its roots in the Georgian era with lofty beamed ceiling's and enormous period windows . The whole property is grade 2 listed and consists of I think 9 ensuite bedrooms ,some with4 posters all of which have been in the last few weeks redecorated and furnished our room was brilliant and spotless with lovely linen and tea/coffee making facilities , large tv and very cosy with efficient central heating . James has already carried major works to the site as it had stood for a while before they took it on .. still a little way to go but it is all running so far to schedule and they are prioritising it in the correct way .. we all stayed overnight on a bed and breakfast basis .. Dan is the man in charge of food and prepared a fantastic full English with toast pastries and cereals but is set up for any dietary requirements .. future plans are to reinstate the Sunday carvery which was mega successful in their previous much smaller premises in the town .. they are well known to a regular clients within the local area and looking forward to welcoming them all back.. they also plan on getting a lot of the planned events back up and running ... bike nights , weddings , christening , birthday parties etc ohh and drag bingo .. the whole site is ideal for these uses with B and B , restaurant , large events room , beer garden , large carpark , patio , 2 bars ..3 with the ballroom .. and packed full of history with open and wood burner fires and seating outside at the front and rear ..hopefully back open to the public within the 2 weeks ... look at the Facebook site for details and updates ... ||sorry if this is a bit longwinded but I am genuinely excited about this and wish everyone goodluck with this new opening in Spilsby .
Staff friendly enough, a bit slow, not a great selection of draught ales available. Not exactly the sort of place to go with the children. On our visit, kids climbing and running over the pool table, language being used wasn't what you would want your children to hear. Car park is small and some dodgy cars to and fro. We are not prudes by any stretch of the imagination but will not be making a second visit. Sorry but the pub needs to clean up its act.
We stayed at The White Hart on Saturday 8th April as we were in Spilsby for a family afternoon/evening party. The rooms were fairly cheap so we weren’t expecting luxury but do expect a decent level of comfort & cleanliness & a good nights sleep. |The pub is in a lovely location in a quiet village so we thought we’d be ok here, even on a Saturday night, but we were so wrong. It’s the worst nights sleep we’ve ever had in a b&b/pub & that wasn’t because of the wonky, cheap metal bed, propped up on bits of wood that creaked loudly every time we dared move, or the green fire exit light that was on all night above the bed… The noise was terrible!! We’re not sure if it was other guests or if the pub had a lock in but there were groups of people going in & out all night, (& morning), loudly banging doors & congregating on the tables under our windows, shouting things like “thanks for the drinks” & “just live your life & have fun”. The house started just after 10 & eventually finished at around 5am, it was almost every single hour for around 15 minutes. So by this time we decided to get ourselves up & leave. No member of staff asked them to be quiet & they just cracked on with keeping people awake all night. I had ear plugs in & could still hear them they were that loud! |As well as the noise & the nasty bed, the rooms & corridors to them are not very clean & have a nasty smell. The pub no longer serves food but we wouldn’t eat there if they did. |It’s a real shame as we’ve heard this used to be a lovely pub with amazing food, especially the breakfast but our family who live there said they’ve stopped going & we certainly wouldn’t go there again. It’s in an idyllic location & could be amazing.
Stayed for three nights in this wonderful and characterful pub. In a large clean room with a an extremely comfortable bed. A large tv definitely not your normal small hotel tv. The staff couldn’t do enough for me. The food was excellent and extremely reasonably priced.
Booked this last minute to be close to a wedding. Couldn’t fault Carl and Mark, went the extra mile to make sure we could get ready in another room when we arrived early, then moved all our stuff into our room while we were out. Basic room but comfy super king bed, genuine nice people. Did the job for what we needed.
DO NOT stay here. Absolutely filthy, disgusting. Carpets stained and dirty, paintwork bashed and grubby and the bathroom was only fit to be ripped out!!!|Awful smell as soon as you walked into the pub. Avoid at all costs. |We booked through booking.com in February and it has since been removed from their website. Photo graphs on line are NOT a true representation of property. AVOID.
Do not stay at the White Hart. Its a run down pub that entertains rowdy people whose language is terrible. Its filthy and unsafe. The landlady instructs you to use the fire escape to enter the pub when its shut. The rooms are old, carpets stained, there is no eating facilities (not that you would want to eat there if you saw the people who run it). I have asked booking.com to take it off their list of places to stay. We checked in and checked out within 2 hours. I think the previous good reviews are years old when it was probably a nice coaching house in its day.
DO NOT BOOK HERE!! ||We booked through booking.com and called ahead a few days prior to see if we could check in early. ||We were told that they needed us the cancel our booking through booking.com and re-book directly. Our payment had already been taken by booking.com ||They continued to threaten us that our booking would not be honoured if not booked directly. In the end had to spend 2 hours on the phone to booking.com to cancel. Did not re-book!! ||APPALLING customer service!! Should be ashamed.
