Went in a couple of weeks ago, ordered the "Special" Fish, it turned out to been 2 fish? Had chips with that.
The fish was greasy as were the chips, they are NOT being fried at the right temperature.
Why are they using a stupid batter? It does not work at low temperatures.
Lesson: 1. A "Batter" is to protect the fish inside and allow it steam itself to optimum full flavour and firmness.

Have been to the Wharfe in Otley a couple of times... no problems.
Quick chippie tea for 3. More like quick chippie snack. 2 x large chips, bread bun and a burger. Don't get me wrong the food was OK....not great but the portion size. What has happened? 2 chips used to feed 3 of us quite comfortably but what I got today was ridiculous 2 boxes not even half full it's asif they forgot to put the other scoops in, that might be due to the fact that they were all talking amongst them selves. They were not paying any attention to the customers stood waiting to order. I even had to ask for them to hand my dinner over as the guy was stood chatting to another member of staff whilst holding my order.

Bought fish and chips. Couldn’t even eat the fish it was so dry. Chips were also very dry. Terrible.

Was told about this place 3yrs ago.. ket trying to get there and was disappointed with everywhere else.. finally 2 weeks ago managed it and again 1 hr ago. Amazing fish, large pure white tasty as hell, chips crunchy outside fluffy inside , nothing greasy or untasteful. Without a doubt the best fish and chips in Harrogate. The staff where all friendly and quick to attend to my order. Presentation in a box was helpful and less hassle than wrapping paper. If your passing please give this place a try,they deserve our custom.
Great place to get fish and chips! First time I have visited and I was not disappointed. The lady who served us was polite and friendly and food cooked to order. Food was piping hot and absolutely delicious Will definitely be visiting again.
