The skills of managing a pub and guest house are rarely appreciated. A quick visit to be with son, needed a break. A good menu, beautifully cooked, large portions, and good local beer marvellous.good, The experience of the proprietor showed, speed of service, the place was immaculate. A separate restaurant, laid for silver service, so that guests were separated, together with a lounge. Thank you for a relaxing time.
I get that this hotel more that 100 years old but never thought that I had to sleep on 100 years old mattress, we stayed I room 104 and I must say that I never slept on this old mattress that all springs was poking my body so basically I couldn't sleep, had a restless night, I think they invested in the cocktail machine and forgot to look after the rooms. The cocktail machine was good so this was positive, location is OK too very near the sea. I wouldn't stay again just because I think is rip off for quality of the room where I couldn't sleep at all.
Stopped in for some food and drinks. Food was lovely and plentiful. Can't thank the team enough for their friendly welcome and accommodating our son who has SEN. It makes a massive difference to families like ours and is hugely appreciated.
My wife and I had an overnight stay at The Wellington. I cannot say the venue was perfection, the rooms are a little tired, could be a little cleaner, the little TV just about functions and the room was very cold. The caring, friendly and courteous staff, however, more than made up for these small imperfections - hence the 5-star review. Simon and his wife were amazing hosts (helped also by Simon's wife's twin sister) and nothing was too much trouble. When we mention that our room was cold we were immediately given a space convection heater for our room, which really helped. In fairness, the outside temperature was well below zero, so not the usual weather conditions. My wife has some relatively uncommon food allergies, which we mentioned to Simon. He was totally unphased and went out of his way to personally prepare dinner for us so that we could enjoy a really tasty meal. We also had breakfast the following morning that Simon also prepared, so again a decent meal. Prices of the room and meals were very reasonable. We are happy to recommend The Wellington and to stay there again if our travels take us back to the Seaford area.
