Best KPortal Reviews
I saw a lot of other great reviews for this place and I can understand the appeal. I however had more of a mixed experience. The food and service were very good. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating.
The drinks were not very good at all. My wife’s strawberry daiquiri tasted like really old freezer burned ice or something off. My drink was OK but nothing great.
There was also a regularly occurring odor of sewage at our outdoor seats. I’d speculate that they have a malfunctioning drain field and when the toilets flush, you get as a whiff.
There was live music which is normally a nice touch but the volume was louder than it should have been for the musicians equipment.
I think if I was a local, the food, atmosphere and service would be enough to take the time to find some better drinks and less smelly seating that would help me enjoy this spot to its full potential.
This was a fun place!! It was my husband’s birthday and he picked this restaurant. We were met with 10 star customer service before we got there. My husband decided the day before his birthday that he wanted to go here and I didn’t know if reservations were required, so I called ten minutes before they closed and this super nice lady booked a reservation for us. We arrived the next day and the service was great. Our server was very attentive and kind. The food was delicious and the drinks - shout out to the bartender!!! We will definitely be back!
We visited the Waterfront for our first experience on March 16 and really really enjoyed it. We had Calamari Fingers ($13) as an appetizer and two of us shared the Waterfront Platter($23) which had one fried fish, two chicken tenders, three fried shrimp, two hushpuppies, French fries and Cole slaw. We also ordered a cupcake for dessert.
Our server was Brandi and she was wonderful and as attentive as we wanted.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating and the feel is very casual. We've passed by this restaurant for years but this was our first visit....and we are looking forward to returning.
Very small parking lot, def looks sketch from the front but once you get to the outside seating in the back it’s beautiful. Huge portions, great taste, and service was good just a tad slow but we were in no hurry. Enjoyed the view and sunshine.
The Waterfront is the best type of local restaurant with great food, service, and ambiance. Either dine inside for a fun vibe with great music or enjoy your meal outside by the water. Both choices offer great views of the lake. Now let's talk food! The sweat tea was just right, and I highly recommend the Jennie mixed drink. It was light, crisp, and refreshing. They had just finished making some fresh claim chowder, so of course we had to try, and if we could have licked our plates clean, we for sure would have. Highly recommend the Cow Burger, juice, and perfectly cooked was absolutely delicious. It comes with a cheese encrusted bun, and I swapped the American cheese for white cheddar on the actual burger, which I highly recommend. As a side, we enjoyed perfectly cooked garlic parsley fries. When I say perfectly cooked, I mean PERFECTLY COOKED. Each fry was that perfect golden brown with just the right outer crisp and inner creaminess. If you are in the Orlando area and are looking for good food and a fun, laid-back atmosphere, The Waterfront is worth a visit. We were so full we didn't have room for dessert, BUT we did notice a cupcake bar that had a selection for scrumptious looking options, which we are planning to return and sample.
Orlando, FL. Zero curb appeal, but amazing food!!!not the cleanest but the food is great!!! Good lakeside views in back daytime to dusk; servers are all petite and wear shorts and black tops; it’s a neighborhood favorite; one tv in the playground area was broadcasting cage fights, tonight there were at least three families with little kids dining here; the first thing you see when you enter the door is a spray bottle and cleaning rag, but did I mention the amazing food!!! The parking lot was, like, down in a hole and part of it wasn’t paved plus it wasn’t that well-lit so don’t bring your 95-year-old granny here who’s prone to falls. But if you like the idea of your favorite uncle who’s a chef inviting you to eat in their trailer home by the lake you’ll absolutely love it here.
So my husband is super picky about restaurants because he was a busboy then short order cook at the Gourmet Fine Dining cafe in La Habra. He said the fried shrimp here were the best he’s ever had: cleaned well, huge, great batter recipe and fried in fresh oil. He also said the hush puppies were the best he’d ever had. The sauces, all made in house, were amazing. He said the cocktail sauce had the perfect amount of horseradish in it. My tartar sauce was full of minced pickles and had weight to it. The collard greens were made from scratch with smoky ham, just a touch of sugar and a touch of vinegar to them: they were fresh, not canned. Great Southern collard greens. His fries were battered; he prefers McDonald’s fries and doesn’t like battered fries but forget about that, this isn’t the French Fry Palace, we came for amazing seafood and their chef delivered!!! Plus I dipped his fries in my tartar sauce and I thought they were hot and fresh and good.
I had the Red Fish blackened style with asparagus and collard greens. The seasoning on my blackened fish was spot on, lots of cayenne and magic. They had cupcakes in a refrigerated case by the front, so that was on the menu at $5 each, 5/11/24.
Our server, Delaney, was great! Helpful, got our orders right without writing them down, and smiled as she served us. There was another server with red hair who was also really kind and helpful when I asked where the bathrooms were.
Music was a tad loud with a steady beat: Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, etc.
The menus were dirty said my husband, the tables have grooves in them; the floor boards were creaking. It’s like your uncle Mitch bought this cute trailer back in the day, put it by the lake and added a sidewalk and paved area in back and a deck on to it on the side. Plus a playground. Uncle Mitch (I’m completely making this up but it’s based on how this place looks) loved surfing and just knew if he made the best food in town this sweet business would fund his retirement years. Well, this site may look rundown in front but it is still thriving and the community is keeping the legacy alive it looks like.
This is a good Orlando small business with great food!!!
The place looks like a roadside dive from the front and on the inside, but the backside has a great view of the lake. The service was great, and so was the food. It just comes to show, never judge a book by its cover.
I absolutely loved my meal. I got the smothered bowl with bacon instead of ham. It was made how I like my bacon, nice and crispy. Your drinks were tasty too. Readable prices. I selected a higher amount because we got drinks.
