Fabulous new venue at the heart of Whitefield's burgeoning restaurant scene.
Great food and a good atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. The food was of high quality even though initially the menu can be a little overwhelming.
Had a lovely meal here at lunchtime on Christmas Eve. We were the first ones in but well looked after by the very efficient but not intrusive staff. The menu at lunchtime was a selection of small plates, salads and sandwiches and the Sunday roast. I went for the Porchetta Sunday roast and the other half went for scorched mackerel, duck croquettes and Indian spiced lamb chops. The food was exceptional, the roast pork was soft, the mash was piped and velvety smooth and the cauliflower cheese was really rich and not overcooked. The mackerel small plate was stunning, with a lovely beetroot puree and soured creme. The duck croquettes, although not too my other half's taste were soft and full of meat and I thought they were lovely. But the star of the three plates were the lamb chops which had a wonderful Indian spice on a bed of spiced grains and were perfectly cooked and soft.
They also have a fantastic wine list here, we ordered a bottle of Puligny Montrachet which is a very well balanced white Burgundy with a creamy, almost buttery note to it. Highly recommended, although at £69 a bottle, maybe more of a treat, but there are other cheaper and very decent wines available.
We finished the meal with a brandy and a white chocolate and cardamom creme brulee which was equal in flavour and quality to the best I've ever had, and given that was in Paris, that's saying a lot!
The staff and the owner were attentive, friendly and efficient, the restaurant is beautiful and comfortable and I don't have a single negative thing to say about the place, I loved it. Will definitely be going back to try the a la carte menu in the new year. A welcome addition to Whitefield and in my opinion, better than next doors One Eighty Eight. Give it a try!
There are no parking spaces outside the restaurant but there are a number of roads nearby where you can park.
The staff were very friendly when we arrived and told us of some special wine deals for wines by the glass/carafe so we tried a Portuguese Douro which was very good and very full bodied.
The menu has a good selection of quite different dishes but why dont they tell you when they give you the menu what is not available that evening as I spent a while choosing my main course only to be told it was unavailable when they came to take the order.
I chose the braised featherblade croquettes with artichoke aioli for my starter and this was excellent with a lovely intense beef flavour.
For my main course I had the confit Pork Belly with carrots, cavolo nero &
a white bean dip. The pork was beautifully with a great pork taste and all of the accompaniments went well but I would have really appreciated a couple of roast potatoes!
The service could have been quicker and some need to learn the basic techniques of not reaching across people or just putting dishes down in front of people without checking who it was for.
The biggest problem we found with the restaurant was the appalling noise level and I dont think I've ever been to a restaurant where the noise was so loud.We all found it very difficult to hear each other and it certainly seemed a long way from fine dining in a relaxing atmosphere.
The food was excellent but I would think again about returning unless something is done about the noise such as sound deadening tiles on the walls and ceiling.
Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful and the selection of drinks is wonderful. Great menu for food too and good quality and value
Enjoyable restaurant with good food and pleasant atmosphere. Staff are very efficient.
Furnished lovely food was first rate staff very friendly and attentive
Beautiful restaurant, very well executed. Menu was varied and we ordered a broad range of stuff, not disappointed with anything. Steak in particular was perfectly cooked/seasoned.
Service was great, we felt very at home. Had a bit of a chat with the manager and he was really passionate about what he was doing. If I didn't live in London I'd be a regular!
Heavily recommend, for sure the best place in the area.
I had heard excellent reviews on this Restaurant and so wanted to try for myself, so last night me and 6 Friends went.
The whole experience from Reserving the Table to the Food, Service, Ambience, was excellent. The Food was delicious and the Staff were attentive without being too pushy.
I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back.
