The cutest little pub. Ian the landlord is amazing. Really cool guy and helpful. The room was clean. Bright. And comfortable. Pleasant decor throughout. Ian was open that the place is still a working progress. Gradually doing things up. But in no way is this place run down or anything. Bed was comfy too. Tons of choice for drinks. He has plans for food in the future. Great price too. For now, support Ian and his venture.
Ooh and it's dog friendly.
Positive criticism: add some little homely touches to the rooms. Like some local magazines and maybe in time add an armchair. A tall mirror.
Recently refurnished rooms ,to high standard.There are 2 dog friendly rooms and 2 standard rooms.The pub side of business comprises of a bar and snug with original features and dates from late 1800s.The food is excellent and atmosphere top rate supplied by the landlord and Landlady Gary and Simone.They also have an outside area which is small but perfect for intimate gatherings.
Terrific little pub. Nice selection of local beers and lovely home-cooked pub grub at great value. Couldn’t resist a sausage roll for later although not sure how will fit it in after the gammon, chips and 2 eggs!

Great town centre pub. New owners, great service from the manager. Deserves to do well.
Stayed here for 1 night. Room was fab, so spacious and the bed super comfy. The breakfast was amazing...cereals and cooked. Lovely friendly staff. Would definitely return. Two little tips for the B&B maybe add some shelves into the shower and the TV was a bit difficult to watch due to the signal. But overall brilliant.
Newly renovated rooms, very clean and tidy. New landlord very helpful.
Good atmosphere, cheery staff. Ladies loos let it down, a wee bit bleach on the black mold would go a long way. Wouldn't stop us coming back. If there was a 4.5 instead of a 4 it would get the half mark from us.
